  1. I'm gonna come back and answer questions in a little bit when i have more time, but ever since I greased the suspension/king pins as MikeRL411 suggested, it doesn't seem to do it as often. In fact, I don't seem to notice it at all anymore. The steering is super responsive too.
  2. This just left work. I know you guys will know what this is! It was so clean it hurt for me to touch it. Not a Datsun, but you gotta love it!
  3. If he doesn't take it, I'd love to as long as your willing to ship!
  4. Maybe it's for your local areas? I'm browsing right now.
  5. Dang mike, that's great about the dizzy. I've never had to look that far into it on an L series to worry about it. I'll look at the points next time I'm in his direction. The squealing is odd, because I've had the carb apart down to every last piece and didn't see anything unusual. When it ran, it had no symptoms of a vacuum leak, and we didn't find any when we were looking with carb cleaner.
  6. Cam timing probably wasn't it. I looked at it today, and he has NO spark now. He's replaced the dizzy and coil under warranty. He has 12V @ ignition, and at dizzy (points dizzy) + has about 8V iIRC. No spark from coil though. We removed the condenser just on a whim to see if it was possibly a DOA part. No change.
  7. To be completely honest, I've worked at Autozone for the last two years and have only warrantied out one water pump, and it was 9 years old on a ford 351. Contrary to popular belief our water pumps are great pumps. Just because the box says Duralast doesn't mean it's any different quality then any other parts stores. In fact, I'm 90% sure Oriellys pumps are the same manufacturer as ours. I'll have to look and see who manufactures ours. I've even had the local Nissan dealer come buy a water pump from us because they were short on stock. FYI, Dayco makes great belts. The new design uses a Neoprene material with kevlar rather then the old rubber design, that used to crack and separate.
  8. Saw this '61 Falcon at the gas station and I had to stop and get a picture. She's such a cool little car.
  9. Here's my popping. You won't hear it until about 0:46 when I apply the brakes. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5hotzjHCGG8&feature=youtu.be
  10. Hey mike, I could use those tail lens's if you wouldn't mind shipping them.

  12. Hell, while it's out of the car might was well rebuild it and do a nice bridge port or peripheral port. Nothing better then a sound of a ported rotary!
  13. I do have drums up front, but I've got new wheel cylinders on all 4 wheels. I should probably just go ahead and throw $$ at shoes and hardware, although I'd rather just diagnose it first.
  14. 90HP but imagine what you're gonna make at the wheels. Maybe 60? And no torque what so ever. It would be cool as hell, but it would cost a lot of $$$ just to make it compete with the L28.
  15. You could always combine 2 12A's and be the datto rotary master :ninja:
  16. IMO, If you're gonna do a rotary in a Z car, it better be a 20B or an R26B. Or else, it's gonna look real freakin small in that engine bay.
  17. It doesn't pop as soon as you move the truck, and used to be that it only popped when you hit the brakes the first time. Now it does it occasionally a few hundred feet rolling if you haven't hit the brakes yet. It doesn't make any noise rocking around the front end, and the tire doesn't drag anymore then normal. Part of me thinks it's got to be brake related, because I can feel the truck slow down once it stops. Almost as if it's braking better, but perhaps it's something else causing that. Is it possible the wheel bearing is loose?
  18. I thought I brought this up here before, but maybe not. Anyways, I've had an issue the last 8 months I've owned my truck, but I've been through just about everything and still haven't traced down the culprit. It ONLY happens after I park the truck and let it sit for 10 minuets or so. When i get back in and drive down the road, I get a loud POP that sounds like it's coming from the front passenger side of the truck. I've already replaced the caster rod bushings and inspected and adjusted the brakes (which were new when I got the truck.) When it pops, I feel as if the brakes are dragging. This has been a more recent symptom of the issue. I've been through everything on the brakes and haven't found anything that would suggest it's brake related. For the sake of it, I checked for any obvious wear in the wheel bearings and control arm bushings and didn't find anything abnormal. I'll take it for a drive tomorrow and record a short video so you can hear what I'm hearing. It's not very serious, but it's getting to the point that I just want to go ahead and get it over with.
  19. Are you kidding me? Stop having kids moron. I'm moving to Britain.
  20. Thanks man! I love the metallic stuff :D it adds a nice touch. My old cap was pretty much destroyed so my thought is that it wasnt sealing up to 14psi like the new cap does, so it started caving in at the weak spots
  21. Hoooolllleeeeee crap! That's one clean Dart. 1970?
  22. Starting to become a wheel whore...
