I think the Z31-T stock requires somewhere in the neighborhood of 400-500 cranking amps below 32 degrees. Literally anything more than that is overkill. If you are dead set on an AGM, look into Johnson Controls (Same manufacturer as the popular Optima) or more commonly known as "Duralast AGM" batteries. Within the last 2 years they've gone through a total overhaul since they changed manufacturers from Eastern Penn and the overall quality has gone quite impressive. You can get one for somewhere in the neighborhood of $150 last I checked. Just don't treat them like a deep cycle.

He was shot dead because the police received a call that a man was threatening people with a gun. They showed up and tried to detain him with non-violent methods (tasers) but he resisted so they tackled him. His right arm was under the front bumper of the car and they couldn't restrain him. He continuously reached fire the pistol in his right side pocket and because they couldn't control him or get control of his weapon they were forced to use deadly force. They initially shot him 3 times, but he continued to try to reach for his gun so they were forced to shoot him again. Turns out this asshole was not only on probation and not permitted to carry a firearm, but was also a registered sex offender and had a history of charges from public intimidation, aggravated assault, domestic abuse, etc. It's fair to say you 'shouldn't' be killed in front of a convenience store but when you push your luck and act as he did it becomes evident very quickly that you are likely to be killed, and rightfully so. I'd rather Alton be killed while resisting arrest than two officers be killed because they were afraid to use necessary lethal force.

R888's are amazing tires period. One of our customers runs them on his 650whp Global Time Attack G35 and loves them. They hold up to heat really well on a road coarse, so I'd imagine they would do just as great at lower speeds on an Auto-X coarse. The big bonus is that they're very affordable in their smaller sizes. Probably the best performance you'll get short of running slicks like the Hoosier A7's, which are intended for Auto-X.

Just a rough guess, looks like it may have been detonating. running lean, perhaps too much timing? That really sucks man.

Hey Ted, most will probably give you crap for a 350Z, but I personally love them and DD my '07. Do you know the bolt pattern on the front by chance? I'd google it but I'm in the middle of a few things. Works Bell and NRG make hubs for the 350Z that we like to use at Z1. You could probably find a combination that works with a universal adapter ring if necessary. Also, don't bother asking any modern Z owners questions relating to S30's, most of them have never seen one in person, let alone have any helpful knowledge.

For future reference, Nissan E-Fast says to use P/N 43081-B5000 > 43081-01W00 (Current PN) on all 620's. They are out of production, but suggests that some warehouses may still have inventory for dealers to order from..

What size do you run? We have a few sets of 275/35/18 Continental slicks that have probably a few track days left that w're unloading for $150 a set. We've been using Pirelli P-Zero's on our Time Attack car, apparently the boss can't even break them loose in our cammed 370 race car at RA. The track day is October 14'th, show is the 15'th. Make sure you register at znationals.com! Cheaper than gate costs.

Also, if you're ever out on the west side near Carrollton and have never been to Z1, make sure to stop in and say hey. We keep our 1000+HP 300ZX and a few of our race cars in their that are real cool to look at.

I actually live in Marietta, there's a good chance you've seen my 620 or 240Z at some point since they were my DD for 5 years. I've never been to Eddies shop so I'm not sure that we would have met. I'm sure no one would mind seeing other Nissan/Datsun variants at Znationals, but I'm not 100%. I can chat with the guys. You should keep an eye out for the ZNationals track day this year, we used to do it at AMP but we outgrew AMP two years ago, and took last year off to try and plan this years much larger event. it should be huge, but Znationals is going to be a BLAST this year. I can't wait to get my 350Z on the track at Road Atlanta.

I noticed you're in GA (as am I.) There aren't many Datsun events HERE, but there are quite a few places you'll find us all. A: The Mitty is held at Road Atlanta every year, it isn't Datsun specific, but it's a vintage car get together that is almost always dominated by the Japanese car scene. Quite a few Datsuns every year. You actually just missed it. B: We (Z1 Motorsports) hold an event every year in October (minus last year) called ZNationals. We used to hold it on site at the shop, but it has gotten too large and we're now doing it at Coolray Field. It isn't specifically Datsun either, but Zcar/Nissan specific. We get a very large group of Datsuns in attendance every year. If you still have your Z's that your profile say, you should bring them out. We also are hosting a track day for Znationals the day before the car show at Road Atlanta where we'll be pulling out our race cars and personal track cars with our customers, if that's your cup of-tea, Road Atlanta is a fun track to drive on. C: Caffeine and Octane: If you've never heard of it, it's at Perimeter Mall from 7am-12pm on the first Sunday of every month. It's a HUGE get together that has thousands of people across the US attend. I can't even begin to describe the event. The Georgia Z club attends every month in the summer, we've had tons of old S30's show up, 610's, 620's, 510's, everything. Nissan brought the IDX out and unveiled it for the first public showing here if I recall correctly. D: GA Vintage Class Meet: This started a few years ago. I'm 90% sure this is still going, but I don't remember when. A group of guys called The Burn Unit started this several years back at Brook Run Park south of Atlanta. It got very big for a while, mostly Datsuns. E: Zdayz. i can't even begin to express how much fun it is. You just need to look it up and see.
