I've got an A87 right now, but the intake ports are much smaller than the IM ports. Apparently it was ported by the PO.

  11. picked up a remote module dizzy, 2 brake light switches, and a flasher at the JY today, and got to check out that new yellow KC.

  12. Thanks for the headsup on the chokes FS. I thought I replied quick, but someone had snagged them :( Something like this may work... ( EDIT: this particular one is for a 3 carb set-up)
  13. I need to move south. James, you should start a school :D
  14. I'll have to snag it from you sometime. This damn weather has the project delayed for a while :(. But the 620 is running, and soon I can tow the goon over to my garage and get crackin'. I NEED A 510 OIL PAN AND PICK-UP TUBE (right?)!!!! Cuz the L18 is coming out of a 620. If anyone haz one, shoot me a price.
  15. This is how the z cars choke their SU's. There are 2 cables all the way to the lever. I think I can replicate this style fairly easily.
  16. That link above sells OEM ones for $50, but they're on backorder
  17. LOL, summer last a whole whopping month here.
  18. So one of my spare Hitachis was kind enough to donate the cable doo-dad :D I'm gonna trim the little ear off, and drill the hole out so it's round, and weld it on to the shaft. Problem solved. Then the bracket to hold the cable will screw on over top of the idle screw thingy on the manifold. Hopefully those chokes will come off backorder soon, gotta call them after the holiday. $50 sounds a lot better than the $160 everywhere else wants for them. So my next dumb question: how do I split my fuel line to feed both carbs?

  20. I should have looked at your pic closer. I'm going to the JY Monday to look at cable trunions. Wayno came over so I could see his setup in person (thanks wayno). That really shed some light on the subject, I think I've got a handle on it. Still need a dual choke cable though.
  21. So where would a guy pick that stuff up, and for how many bucks? Also, Wayno has informed me I should look into getting the choke cables. So, I'm officially on the market for some SU chokes.
  22. Searched, but can't find a decent write-up for doin SU's on a 620. Anyone?

      LOL, I don't have an L20...

So far I've got everything figured out except how to split the ffuel line.

  23. Just re-read a couple posts up, and realized we never answered your question. #1 spark plug is the front of the engine. They go in numerical order 1-4 front to back, although they fire 1-3-4-2. You can pull the front plug, and put your thumb over the hole while rotating the motor until you feel compression and you'll know you're close to TDC, but the timing mark on the crank pully is usually hard to see, so visually verify the cam lobes are at 10 and 2.
