  1. Well I’m assuming it is just a regular ol ground so I grounded it to the frame, plus added a ground from the valve cover to body hopefully this is enough grounding to help prevent such a catastrophic event in the future if battery ever arch’s out again. I also added an aftermarket fuse box for stereo wiring and any extra wiring in the future. I also welded up this extra unused heater hose outlet. It used to have a hose that was plugged with a clutch adjustment tool and hose clamp lol 😂also welded up a unused nipple on the intake.
  2. So this ground wire got fried when the battery grounded out. I’d assume I can just ground it to the frame or body instead? Seems like the rest of wires in loom are fine but this ground wire is fried the whole way through the harness basically. Or can I not just ground anywhere because this wire is needed to run the voltage regulator correctly?
  3. your truck reminds me of my old convertible truck.
  4. finally a beams swap. I am wanting to do a beams in a datsun. Can you take a few pics of how the oil pan of the beams sits in the 620 and what you needed to modify? truck is dope. now you need the pandem kit or atleast some flares.
  5. Cool, well now that he has scammed multiple members can we dust off skibs trusty ban hammer? Issue is he is reaching out to other peoples WTB threads, not posting his own.
  6. You would think one of the mods would have blocked him when I posted this and messaged them.
  7. yeah I’m mostly just doing it because it’s an old car and probably can use a little stiffening, and because I heard that it was up on a rotisserie and was flexing a little before I got it so it can probably use the reinforcement.. and yes I have a welder and need some practice is the biggest reason. If I find some thick flat sheets I will do some triangle brackets better than nothing and I’m sure the more I do the more it will add up and stiffen the car 1% by 1% every little bit helps.
  8. Yeah I’m sure this is not quite as good as stitch welding but I’ve seen other people just do tac welds on the 510’s so figured it’s good enough, not a race car just trying to have it be a bit stiffer I may try to stitch weld some of it as I go along and get more comfortable with it trying not to blow holes in it… I was thinking gusset may not be beefy enough . here’s an example of someone else just tac welding. https://frontstreet.media/2016/03/30/build-series-old-school-labs-datsun-510-resto-part-1/

  10. Thinking about cutting up this old motor mount into an L bracket for either side do you think this will add any rigidity or a waste of time?
  11. Started welding seams to stiffen up the chassis a bit. Learning to weld don’t make fun of me, it think this is a good way to get the hang of it.
  12. Thanks this is exactly what I was needing a more quality part. I will get one of these setups.
  13. Trying to get the wifes 521 going good enough to make it. I have never had a datsun that was more finicky. I am so tired of adjusting the clutch and the brakes and it never working quite right. I am fixing one area at a time right now and we will see if I can get it dialed in in time.
  14. I learned my lesson I just upload straight here, much simpler. Image hosting is so 2010.
  15. So this started as me just wanting advice on a cheap easy way to get a few extra horsepower out of a A14, this has snowballed quite a bit. I am pretty sure I am going to do a crank trigger ignition from a ford, it is not that much more expense than finding a matchbox dizzy, there is an easy to understand how to on the 1200wiki, and I can't run a matchbox dizzy with this A12 cam in my A14 block anyways. Since I am doing this type ignition I have decided that I might as well get megasquirt so I can go some sort of EFI. Since I have this dcoe intake now I think I am going to run these style throttlebodies.. $500-$600 on ebay. then with a microsquirt it would not be too much more expensive than 2 real weber dcoe carbs. I will be able to program 2 step, rev limiter, shift light etc on a A series. So should be pretty cool in this little high rev motor. Also this allows me to possibly in the future have a plenum made to attach to the throttle bodies and run a small turbo J piped off the header. My only concern is how good these cheap chinese throttle bodies are, no good how to anywhere or detailed reviews.
  16. Got the hookup from a ratsun member on a intake and exhaust

    you are slacking on updates!
  18. Can anyone give me a guestimate on size and offset on this car?
  19. I hope my 510 looks 3% as nice as this.
  20. Working on fixing all the wiring issues. tail lights needed attention and needed lenses. 521 lenses are so expensive when available and hard to find I decided to just retrofit some trailer lights, should look pretty cool sequential lights. Just used stock brackets moved the inside bracket and tack welded in. also cleaned up the fuse box to stop all the electrical gremlins from taking over. wired in a stereo. Going to make a better chassis ground and solder and clean up any of the connections I made when I installed the motor because I was in a bit of a rush to make sure it all worked, so I’m going to get everything wired up more permanently, ordered a small aftermarket fuse box to wire the stereo in and so it has more room to wire in aftermarket stuff in the future. my son approved.
  21. The guy that makes flyers for “vice grip garage” on YouTube whenever they put on a show made it. Paid him $8 haha 👍 if you want the full quality one I can send it to you via text message email I had to down scale it to make it post on ratsun.
