  1. Well updates aren’t great on the 2 door. I finally bought a house and the car resides in the garage. I picked up this wagon trying to decide if I should use it as a parts car or try and save it…
  2. username gabby is a scammer. just got one of these generic scammer messages they like to send out "hello, are you still looking? you can get in contact with Samson if its still available... his mail is samson.2millard@gmail.com"
  3. cool look forward to your build. Please figure out how to upload pics directly to site. It sucks having to click these links to view each photo.
  4. yeah same for me every time I have posted a wanted ad someone does it. @sTanTruck if you used paypal ask them to do a charge back, I did it and got my money back once.
  5. what should we do for the ac? would it be worth the effort doing it myself and getting some dye and checking for leaks etc? Or should we bit the bullet and have a shop do that?
  6. Ha let us know power steering pump would be awesome
  7. Traded a boom stick for this 1985 720 4x4. It runs and drives amazingly for its mileage and condition. It has a lot of options cruise control, ac, power steering etc… has 240k miles… has a few rust spots on body but none on floor boards or rockers or underneath… it’s going to be my wife’s little fun run around town truck. AC does not work, do you think it’s worth trying to get it working on this old of a truck or should I remove it? power steering was whining and grinding, cut off the old belt. It is hard to steer but nice and quiet. Worth just getting a new power steering pump for $100? First plans for this project (torque head to prevent head gasket failure, adjust valves while I’m in there, and new valve cover gasket) we want to lift it a few inches atleast and put a nicer wheel and bigger tire on it 31-33 inch. Will probably do a 3inch body lift. also considering doing a tractor supply paint job on it.
  8. what is this paint? is it just spray painted?
  9. Ha I am mostly in agreement but its a state job with mostly good benefits, early retirement, and other than it sometimes being hard to get exact weekends off because others also request the same days it's usually not too bad with the PTO and stuff that I accrue. I have a 3 day weekend every week, just sucks that my personal weekend is mon-wednesday.
  10. If anyone is interested I have a 1981 Honda 450r elsinore I plan on getting rid of. It's a big project but I wouldn't want much for it. Rare one year only bike. This isn't a for sale ad just a feeler.
  11. unfortunately never found the coverage. Hope it's a great show look forward to the youtube coverage.
  12. I used to own this truck when I was going to college in moses lake washington in 2012. Traded a honda motorcycle for it. It was black spray paint when I got it, I spray-painted it turquoise. Then I traded it for a tv and a nice digital camera lol. It still looks identical to when I had it basically except for the color.
  13. Time Left: 9 days and 9 hours

Looking for a vg30 or vg33 engine preferably a runner, at least rebuildable, and a z31 or 2wd d21 5 speed. Also on the lookout for vg swap parts for a 510... 200sx s12 exhaust manifolds. Team thump or similar motor mounts etc...

    $1,000

  14. yes! I understood your position. It's unconstitutional to remove someone's property period when there is no established convicted crime even. "Innocent until proven guilty" yet your guns are all confiscated. People hear "hit a woman" and get all empowered. I agree it's not okay to hit women, men that hit women deserve punishment, very violent men that may harm women with guns don't deserve guns. But I man whom is being investigated for a possible domestic is a bit different situation. Due process. This is just like all the dumb red flag laws. I am glad there are some of us old school idahoans around still. Greater idaho!
  15. well since no one asked me I will add my opinion anyway. I think it doesn't really matter what happened or is currently happening. There is obviously some shady things that big pharma did with vaccines to make a lot of money. I think the "conspiracies" have merit like population control etc... but also incompetence is definitely at play. Look at the president we have in the USA currently. If that man is president god only knows how many incompetent people there are pulling strings etc... I have not read all 220 pages of this thread but why is this such an important topic still? I gave up a long time ago, the system is obviously flawed and some corrupt people do some shady things, they always have and always will... also dumb people get into positions of power. I just stack 2a items and ammo, and try to be as physically healthy and ready as possible for the potential collapse. My kids will be the next generation training in judo and western boxing as little kids, then BJJ and firearms. They will be intelligent, strong, and prepared for this hard world. Home schooled and not manipulated or "groomed". Stewards of our land and caring of other people. Non judgmental but willing to speak their mind. God willing they will raise their kids in the same way... If more people got off the internet and news and focused on building up their own realities we would live in a much better world. besides shouldn't we all be out saving datsuns? Let's focus on some important causes.
  16. that ladies acting drives me nuts.
  17. Really want to go have not been to another big datsun get together since 2013... I am bribing people for coverage at work currently. Everyone wants that weekend off of work for some reason, so I am at the bottom of the barrel for people to ask to cover me... paid time off is great up until they make you find coverage to use it... I have so far got one of the days covered... will be towing the datsun if I get to go. Praying to the datsun gods that I get to go..

looking good neil. Glad to see you are doing well. Hope to see some updates on your truck soon. A lot of nostalgia for me seeing photos of it, would love to see it road worthy again.
  20. took the truck to a hot rod show. It drove pretty good across town. First successful drive longer than a mile lol. Finally got a lot of the bugs worked out feels good. 👍… 5 speed swap is definitely soon on the list.
  21. I really wish I had an actual progress update to share; this thread has been pretty lackluster so far. For the past year, I've been living in an apartment, solely focused on work and getting my finances in order for a home purchase. Finally, we're closing on a house and moving in a couple of months! I'm thrilled to finally have my very own garage to work on my Datsun. I plan on installing a lift and really diving into this project over the summer and winter! However, I've had a bit of a change of heart regarding this project. While my initial plan was to do extensive bodywork and paint the car a nice color, and maybe even install something like a Honda K24 motor, I've come to realize that this car, being a stripped-down basket case, is already too big of a project for me to tackle anytime soon. I just want to enjoy working on it without it becoming a never-ending project that I keep putting off until I have more time or money. After looking at countless 510s on Google images and project threads, I've realized that my preference leans more towards "ratsun" cars with a bit of patina or a flatter, more aged-looking paint. In an ideal world, my dream 510 would have original paint that's aged gracefully over time. So, my new plan is to go for a "fauxtina" paint job or a quick rough-up and spray job, maybe using tractor paint. I've attached some photos of cars that inspire me, and I'd love some input on coming up with a plan for something tasteful but with a bit of a rough edge. As for the engine, while I still think a K24 isn't a bad plan, the process of converting it to rear-wheel drive involves more cost, parts accumulation, and custom fitting than I have the time or energy for right now. Instead, I'm considering finding either a 300ZX with a VG30E and 5-speed for under 3k, or a 2WD Pathfinder or Hardbody that's seen better days, towing it home, and cannibalizing it for its powertrain. This way, I'll have the engine, transmission, wiring, ECU, and all the bolt-on bits I need without the hassle. The VG30 should provide enough power for a fun driving experience, with good torque and fuel injection for daily driving. At the end of the day, my main goal is just to be able to drive this car and have it look "cool," rather than necessarily being pristine. I want to prevent rust from coming back, and while I plan to make the body somewhat straight, cosmetics seem less important to me. Below are some cars that reflect the aesthetic I'm aiming for, to give you an idea of my plan. this being my favorite with the 2 tone bre style scheme. Not sure if I like the bre stripes but otherwise I really would like to do something like this I think. Different colors but you get the idea. Look like an old scca race car that's been aging.
  22. Fuel system is all working. When we originally had installed the Weber and adapter I guess we had stripped out the intake stud holes. So we had to helicoil it when we installed the one piece adapter. everything finally seems to be working like it should. Drove it to work today! also got some marine vinyl and yoga mats and reupholstered the door cards. They turned out pretty decent for a rat rod.
