Ok I pulled oil pump and tried this.... But when I tightened up oil pump the shaft wedged in there the wrong way. So I took it back apart and carefully tightened it back up, but the top of the shaft was sticking out too far on the distributor side of things. So I took it back apart and looked at shaft and the gear had moved down the shaft a little ways from wedging in there the wrong way. So I got a socket and hammered the gear where it was supposed to be, and reinstalled it to close to where I remembered it was positioned. Now it wont start, it just backfires out of the carb or the exhaust and never really starts. Im assuming its that Im SUPER advanced now...Is there anyway to just start fresh? Ugh im so frustrated right now! :frantics:

Im thinking about getting a d3100 in a couple weeks... what lenses have you used to take what pictures in this thread? What is your favorite lens... and how well does just the original lens do?

thanks :)... Datsun letters were cut out and welded back in then filled with fiberglass and putty and what not. Wide14u's truck on heres tailgate says da nuts. It was the same guy in boise Idaho that did both tailgates. He said he has done about 20 of these tailgates over the years, so if you ever see another nuts truck chances are its routes go back to Boise Idaho.

All my welding connections are back in Boise if I was still there this would be done already... Rhapa:the top goes on and off with gaskets and baja bug hood clamps. I can get a pic soon. I am either going to take my top in and have it upholstered with fabric and make a Phantom top, or get a legitimate soft top fabbed, once again to bad I'm out here, my soft top connection is back in idaho. Lol

I then put points and a battery in it and drove it the 2 hours after it had been sitting for 7 years. It smoked soo badly that it was down four quarts of oil when I got it home.. and there was no first gear lol ... heres the old build thread.... subscribed :)

usually I like my datsuns slammed, but thats a good classy drop you got there, love the wheels with the complimenting white walls... Sometimes I regret trying to go all out on building everything I drive and I wish I had a clean slightly modded 620 like you got there... :) good job

I think its probably just worth it to cruise your truck down to a reasonable upholster shop... cant cost much more than 150 and it would be PERFECT, in this economy nobody is coming in and they need the work at the shops.
