    Simple LZ22

Hey folks, just tossin this out there, I have a complete 2.2L bottom end, whats the simplest way to create an LZ22 out of this? As in, which cyl head and tricks required? Any other tricks of the trade so to speak? Im considering this engine for my hypothetical 521 pickup. Not looking for high rev, just torque and simplicity for a truck. SOrry if theres similar threads, i did search, but nothing quite matched what im asking.
  7. Good god, take that 'thing' out and shoot it!!! Put it out of its misery!
  8. Measures bearing journals, crank bits, sized the bearings, checked endplay, and assembled the crank!
  9. Some 'live action' pics, I was at Matts today installing the crank in my engine. Had to size the thrust bearing to get .005 of endplay. New bearings were too tight, less than .001.

    Hitachi DCR342

I know i shouldnt post for sale shit here, but this is specific to 81-82 720 P/U's, I have a completely rebuilt Hitachi carb for the Z22 engine, i can provide reciept i think, forgot where it went, had it professionally redone by the last carb shop i know exists in Sacramento. United Carburetor. Paid $270 for the rebuild, its anyones for $200. shipped. I know you most people can swap a Weber on, but us Cali folks are required to maintain stock carbs and cats. PM ME!
  20. Yeah i found courtesy. Got a local dealer to price match for me, so, less waiting. CANT WAIT TO FIND MYSELF A DATSUN TRUCK!!! =D
  21. Nope, thats nissans modern stupidity, misnaming parts, and naming multiple parts the same name! This boost sensor, that measures vacuum, is located near the carbon canister.
  22. 1976 and newer needs cats and smog checks =( Not terribly concerned, my HB single cab is far from roomy and i liked it just fine.
