Selling my 68's old shell, it is a complete shell, no suspension, but will throw in a IRS unit i have sitting around, 4 complete doors, trans tunnel cut for KA trans. includes 68 dash and rebuilt dash wiring harness, fully functional cluster. No heater. includes 2 seats, not bolted down. Has rust in the usual areas, rear quarters. Not a perfect shell, but good for buying for parts or what not. $350 You tow it away. PM if interested. So i have my 521, im starting to remove the engine (J13) and have wondered how one of these really runs. Sure, mine ran when i bought it, but the clutch slipped sop bad i couldnt even drive it. How does a 1300 handle hills with the stock gearing? Is a J13 that leaks every fluid, but seems to run ok worth salvaging until the opportunity for an L swap arises? Does the stock 2 row rad cool it effectively? (assuming coolant thermostat and fan are all ok) WHere can i get a vinyl floor kit for it? Anyone have a good bench seat they dont want? Mine is trashed :P anyway, ill post more as i think of them. So good to have this forum available!!!

No nostalgia folks here huh? Hahaha, KA i was 'told' is good, had 90k on it or so, attempted a swap a few years ago but the injectors are all bad. I know the question seems a little too obvious, but i dunno, i have a thing for odd shit, like the J13, 1300cc's of FURY! Hmmm, a similar, but different question poll i put in the 521 forum got deleted???

Ok, bottom line, my engine will be done very soon. Nice little L19. But...i had an epiphany tonight at the SacDatsun/SacRatsun meet. I still have a full KA swap sitting here. I could KA the 510, and stick the L19 in the 521. A sick ratty little pickup with a nasty idle, and a smooth POWERFUL 510...

Capable of holding, yes, but how fast and how well can it stop? HAHAHA! THey dont mention that in the old ads :P

Well, saw this ad on CL in Sac yesterday, looked so good i had to call. Went down to Sac, checked it out, has the expected wear and tear for a 42 year old truck, but it was in really good shape! Had to buy it!! :D Im a 521er now!!!

Anyone have these springs and not want them?

Today, i reinstall the radio!

Thanks to philcas1987, i was able to do my Mazda wiper conversion :D and rebuild/restore my whole wiper linkage. Its A lot easier than i thought! I used emery cloth to clean the pivots up. Cleaned the pivots out and re greased. Installed the GasAdjust shocks i scored too!

Was it just rear springs?

Seems like a good price for a new engine =) I just got a 521 with a J, and i wanna keep it that way unless it dies completely.

How much did this run you if you dont mine my asking?
