  1. Finally got a chance to take the old 620 down to the local car show/cruise and headed towards town, when i got to the main strip i turned the coner and gunned it trying to get it a little sideways infront of all the little punk ricers (you knwo the kind with a little honda, ground effects hanging off, fart can that sounds like shit) anyways i was turning right so my left rear tire rolled under the truck a bit because of the load, the sidewall caught the u-bolt and KAWHAMMMMM!!!! split the damn thing all the way around, right infront of like 200 people, a few people cheered lol, anyways spent the remainder of the cruise going to my house to get some tools and putting on my 30 year old spare, oh well live and learn

    '74 Carb rebuild?

hey i have the same problem i just havent got around to fixing it yet, i bought a set 44mm mikunis so ill prolly just use them later on down the road, yeah you could take it apart and clean it up and that would help, a rebuild kit for the stock hitachi is like 12 bucks so you would be better off by doing that, good luck

    Truck LSD???

  6. hey man im in southern ky, towns called someset you may have heard of it, you should come to our car show it is the 4th saturday of every month, its pretty sweet, its called the somernites cruise, we could rep ratsun!!!, as far as meets/shows there is one in atlanta and thats all i know of, but anyways i want to see pics of your truck, i just bought a 620 myself, peace ps. its good to have a ratsun friend close, i thought i was all alone out here lol
  7. my shift boot looked just like yours, i took some thick black material from walmart (cost me like 50 cents!) and sewed up my own, took like 15 min, then i put the bottom of the boot on like normal then turned it inside out and zip tied the top on from the inside so you cant see it, it turned out nice but it's temporary untill i can sew one up with black leather

    L20b

personally i wouldnt go more than .030" over standard because then you are taking away from the reliability of your motor, thats just my opinion, there are lots of guys on here who can help you alot more than me
  10. ok deafbob got them fixed, my girlfriend decided to "organize" the photobucket and put all the datsun pictures in their own file even though when you do it it says warning!!! moving the selected files will kill your linked photos, i forgive her though, she is a blonde lol:cool:
  11. sorry guys my girlfriend fucked up the photobucket, ill get them back on as soon as possible,:mad::mad::mad::mad:
  12. i know they are 44 mm because the throttle blades say 175 instead of 165, i need help finding rebuild kits and venturis and trumpets, or part numbers so i can go to the parts house and buy some, i took them to oreilys and they didnt have a clue
  13. so i thought these were 40mm carbs now i know they are 44mm, is there any advantages/disadvantages? and why do i not have any venturis? does it not need them?
  14. bought the set with the manifold, look decent, kinda crusty, now i need some help in identfying them, i thought they were solex type s4 also known as PHH44, i got my info from here http://www.rmcarburetors.net/oem_toyota_solex_type_s4.htm so are these 44mm carbs? i need to get complete rebuild kits and a linkage kit for them so if you guys could either give me some more model numbers or part numbers, anything will help, thanks here are some pictures
  15. go with the line x you wont be dissapointed, be sure to get the kind that doesnt fade it is well worth the money, looks damn good
  16. i talked to the guy that has these for sale and he said he thinks they are for a datsun or a toyota, but what i need to know is if the manifold on them is the right one, i know somebody on here can look at it and tell me if it will bolt up to my l20b, if so then im gonna go pick them up tomorrow, thanks guys
  17. im in need of a 620 front turn signal lens, just the lens will work but if you have the whole thing that would be fine too, i also need a stock hitachi radio knob, and one of the little chrome accent pieces that goes on the air vent, thanks
  18. so here is what i have done lately, i cut out the rust holes in the floor board and beat out some patch panels by hand and welded them in, then i sealed the floor with a primer sealer and coated it with the duplicolor bedliner, sorry i forgot to take a pic of the bedliner with the seat out. also i bought some 3 inch blocks and re indexed the torsion bars. the truck sits so much cleaner now!!! amazing what that did for the appearance. remember the old nasty engine bay? a couple of dollar cans of oven cleaner made it shine like new!!! got the truck transferred and insured and the insurance company lowered my yearly bill 67 bucks because we have so many vehicles, i guess its like a car lot discount lol. went and found a pretty rusty donor truck today and got a few parts off of it, i got the grille minus one trim ring:(, the shifter, the mint ashtray, the mint cigarette lighter, the egr/seatbelt light, and a couple of small parts all for 35$ old man didnt want to bargain with me but i think i got a good deal:) i was looking for a radio knob, a turn signal lens, and the little chrome piece on the air vents but the radio was smashed and the chrome pieces were gone:( the truck had some nice taillights that i will probably go back and get and maybe the drivers rocker panel ( i didnt even look to see if it was rusty or not:mad:
  19. if i could pick these carbs up for like 100$ should i do it? i want to use them on the l20b in my 620, but i didnt know how hard it would be to find the right intake manifold, any advice would be great, thanks:confused:
  20. where did you get your front lower valance, i need something to put over mine to cover up the suspension shit on the front end
  21. hey man i like those mirros alot where did you get them and what did they cost? i wanna get a set for mine, thanks
  22. I need to figure out why i only have either high or low beams? didnt get to that today but it will come soon, here are some more pics I guess the shifter boot doesnt look too bad for 15 minutes and some scrap black cloth, definitely looks better than the original rotted boot
  23. Ok here are the plans over the next several months, New l20b, 5 speed, clutch, 4 wheel disc conversion, refurbished steering (pretty loose right now), paint (havent decided what color, im up for sugesstions), reupolster seat, tach, bed liner, 2009 titan wheels, painted frame (eventually). Whithin the next month my dad and i are gonna start our new shop, 40'x60' 3 bays with a lift on one end. so hopefully when the shop gets finished i can tear into this truck, its gonna be slow for now though. as far as rust goes the truck is lacking, there was one bubble spot about 2 inches by 2.5 inches, i hit it with 60 grit and slapped some shit paint over it to slow it down untill i can do some bodywork. the rest of the body has minimal rust and a few small dents and dings buth nothing a hammer & dolly and some light filler wont fix. engine runs ok when it gets warmed up but needs some carb work. Stock carb obviously sucks. im gonna save up and buy a 32/36 in the next few months that will go on my new motor, i have a 5 speed already that is supposed to be in working condition but my uncle is the manager of a large tranny shop so im gonna have them split it open and clean it up and replace anyhting if necessary. The floor boards look ok but could be better, cleaning them up and sealing them is number 1 on my to do list Im gonna do a few small things in the next 2 weeks to get the truck decent enough to run in our local car show. the turnout is usually about 1500 cars and its the last sat. of every month. of course i will be almost guaranteed to me the one and only person reppin the datsun name!! sad sad :( any ways here is what ive done today. 1. removed the rear bumper 2. removed the huge mirrors 3. vacummed out the heater core it was full of leaves. 4. pressure washed the bed. 5. oved some bull shit from under the hood that the last onwer put there. and got all of my marker lights working
  24. yeah i have the actuall battery bracket just havent put it on it was bungeed when i got it, i also have the package tray! but i doubt i will put it on i like the extra leg room, if i buy a weber from weber direct will it bolt up to the stock intake mani? it runs a little rough right now but once its warmed up and your on the gas it goes fine, very lacking in power though
  25. hey i just bought a 620 today it has some huge mirrors go look in project datto for my thread tell me if thats the mirrors your looking for, if thats the ones you want make me an offer, thanks
