  3. borrowed one of the c clamp style compressors today from my boss, gotta lap one more valve then a final scrubdown of the head then im gonna try it out!!!

  14. hey guys i just spent the last 1.5 hours removing the valve springs and valves from my l20 head. wow what a total pain in the ass. i cant image what kind of frustration i am in for when i install them again. anyways i used an overhead valve spring tool and it proved to be hard to use especially since the cam towers were in the way. my question to you is what kind of tool/method do you guys use to remove and install valve springs, surely there is an easier way!!!!

  17. well crap i didnt realize that these were for the rear since most guys do the front, hell still a good deal though!!

    anybody know what the mac lift for a cam on an l20b would be before the springs bind, im not wanting to go with a race cam but i dont want a mild cam that will bind the springs. i read that the max for the z car engines is .460 lift and i was looking at getting a 490 for my motor, just wondering if that was too much? i dont want to sacrifice too much low end, i knwo some of you said you liked the 490 isky profile, did it seem weak in the <3000 range????

    isky has the lash pads for it but i guess just install them over the top of the valve spring? then adjust valve lash????
