  1. Hah, no thanks, that was how the current paint was done... It looks absolutely horrible. Thanks for that though, edited the title :P
  2. Yea, I was looking at HVLP guns. I don't see any reason not to get them since I am doing a budget setup and I can't afford a massive compressor. I know a lot of people don't like harbor freight but I was looking at a 2.5hp, 125psi, 10gal compressor and a 1.8hp, 150psi, 17gal. I have no idea what I am looking at honestly but the 10gal is 5.3 CFM @ 90PSI, 17gal is 4 CFM @ 90PSI
  3. Someone find me a 620 bench seat in Georgia...

    1. Dat Lurka

      Dat Lurka

Talk to Squatch he knows where there's some 620's around Helen

  4. Alright, I am starting to gather more tools because lets face it, tools are fun :P I will be picking up a 7" angle grinder tomorrow and possibly a dremel. I'm also looking at a palm sander but I have high hopes that the angle grinder and elbow grease will be enough to finish my projects without picking up massive amounts of tools. So here is my situation and overall plan: I have a 74 620 with a horrid house paint job (rollers and paint brushes). I want to sand it to bare metal, do some repairs (should be fun to break out the welder), and do a primer/satin paint job at the house. Before this all takes place I will be grabbing a tarp style carport and a tarp for the floor (since I don't have a garage). I will also set up an intake and exhaust fan with filters (I need carbon filters for exhaust fan right?). I have painted one car with the help of freinds before, and it was a rattle can job. I don't really want to do a rattle can job this time, but depending on the price of tools I may have to. What setup have you guys used? I am looking for a low budget setup and as far as I have found, there are no places near me that will rent out their booth. I have never used a spray setup but I know that I do not have room for a huge tank, nor do I have that kind of money. Budget wise I am probably looking at $800 for the compressor and all the parts I need to run it correctly. If it is possible for less, that would be great. I understand that I would be better off spending the $800 for a paint job, but I will also eventually paint my civic, and probably my mom's car. Plus having my own setup, even a small one, will make it easier if I decide to change something in the future.
  5. The PO decided to house paint it bulldog colors with rollers and brushes... And make the side markers and hood stripes with assorted silver tape :P Let me atleast get the new hood and cowl on and I will see about hitting the old school meet this month.
  6. I'm embarassed to show up till I get some sanding and primer done. I figure as long as I can make it look like I'm working on it I will be ok showing it :P
  7. Haha, it was a small gathering (5 people) but it was cool. First time I have been close to a 510 and gotta say, wish I had found one of those rather than my 620. I am very interested in the L16 if you are ready to part with it. It is always good to have an engine around when you need it.
  8. bilzbobaggins - Got a hood and cowl for the 620. Great seller.
  9. Was a fun trip. I'm jealous of that 510... Looks like I need to find a running L series to throw into the truck when I get ready to rebuild the L18. Pretty sure that is the route I am going to go now. bilzbobaggins, thanks for the hood and cowl, going to sand it down and primer it this week if the weather permits it.
  10. Haha, on my way now, 85 miles, hope the 620 lives through it :P
  11. I'm still planning to come out :) We need to decide where we are meeting but I don't know anything about Wrens
  12. Great news man, It is rare to find a vehicle after a day or two so I'm glad to see this truck was returned :)
  13. Well, since we put in the new thermostat I have had to add water every day... Decided to rig up a small overflow southern style. I know it probably won't work the way it should, but as long as it keeps coolant off my alt I will be happy. Edit: If you look in the background on the first pic you can see the flex hose I got for the rad. Can't wait to get either an aftermarket 3 core or a stock 620 rad, this thing is horrible
  14. What, this isn't a bolt in? So that means I have to get hasport mounts right? Will it work with my chipped ecu or hondata? Neptune? Someone halp! I haz anchor in front-o-me-civic!
  15. Beautiful story and truck. I loved reading all of the work you did here. If you do not mind I may ask for some guidance on bagging equipment for my 620 if I decide not to go with a sportier stance. You really seem to know what you are doing and I have no experience with what to buy.
  16. Look in the Datsun parts for sale area. There is a sticky to these amazing wiring boxes, I'm sure if you contact the seller he will answer any further questions. I believe they are called Can/am, it says wire CA, Vg, KAs into anything :P
  17. Lol, well atleast its a KA. Thought of doing something like this to my civic a few times, but I would rather slap all the parts I have on it and sell it to some highschooler for 3500-5000 as a turbo project. After all, it does have the only greddy D kit with a custom ported elbow... gotta be worth mad bux right? (Taking notes for future sale add)
  18. Nice truck. I loved my 89 B2200. Even held on to the pics of it. That was how I bought it, never really did anything to it. They are great trucks worthy of good homes. Sadly I sold it to fund my civic rebuild... Stupid childish thoughts... As for the 92+ models, never liked them. Since Ford took over Mazda trucks they were never the same.
  19. Thanks for the SKU shot. That should make it much easier to find. As far as a possible swap is concerned, I just have to figure out what I really want. I've only had the truck for a few weeks and the L18 runs strong, so I kinda want to keep it. However, I have had a few cars with over 200whp and I can feel the bug biting me again. Looking at the power some of the KA and SR guys are getting is making me jealous. Even if I take all the turbo parts for my civic and finally put them on the car, its not a Datsun and I have no more love for the honda forums... Plus that takes away valuable time and money for the truck. Can't wait to see the rest of this 510's journey. One day I will be able to get a 510, even though I will probably have to by it on the west coast and ship it here :(
  20. What rattle can paint did you use? That color looks amazing to me. Love the car, wish I could bring myself to try and shove an SR20 into my 620.
  21. New development, if We don't all get blown away by the tornados, the meet is still on for noon Saturday :P
  22. Haha, I plan to come up to the next old school meet. Sucks being in Macon but I can hit most of the Georgia meets pretty easily.
  23. Is that possible? If only I had found a 521 we would fit in, but no, I had to get a bullet...
  24. cl72wagon - got my nice ratsun shifter in the mail today. Great quality and a good price.
  25. Lol, looking forward to if :P Lets see, I think Wrens might have a caution light? Something like that :)
