Well.... I turned the engine till the points were supposed to be closed, then adjusted them till they closed. Then torqued down the two screws.

  4. Until I could find someone to pick them up. They'd all fit in a semi trailer probably. May know someone who could grab them on the way back from cali.
  5. If I bought them, could you hold onto them, or do you have to get rid of them?
  6. I bought a 50 amp Bosch for my 74 http://www.partstrain.com/store/?N=0&Nr=AND%28universal%3A0%29&PN=0+9176&VN=4294967047+4294960609+4294960555+4294967132+4294967066&domain=partstrain.com&Nr=AND(universal:0) It fit great and you get plenty of power.
  7. I have that one covered. Mexico is 15$ for the day with "Latin Protection" which covers roadside assistance, towing, and bail. Belize is 120$ for a year of coverage. Has anyone ever used stainless tube for radiator hoses? http://www.ebay.com/itm/CHROME-STAINLESS-STEEL-FLEXIBLE-RADIATOR-HOSE-KIT-/300731688118?pt=Vintage_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item46050164b6&vxp=mtr#ht_1238wt_1031
  8. Just got a call from a plant nursery job I applied to 3 months ago. $7.25 x 72 hours x 4 weeks = 1 new datsun per month. So fucking excited. I get to take care of plants all day for datto monies.

  10. Thanks. It seemed like a place I'd like to see, and I'll probably be staying. I've got a killer tan and dreads coming in. Can be tough for the gringos down there but I can manage. I'm working through Rosetta Stone Latin American Spanish and it really does work as good as they advertise. But what about vehicle readying. Anyone have good experience with long datto trips?

It's that $2.50 hunk of porcelain with a wire runnin through it eh

  12. You may want to put the EGR valve on the intake before bolting to the block. I personally put the entire intake/exhaust and carb assembly on the engine as one piece. But it weighs a good 50 lbs like that.
  13. We need a big meet in Asheville. It's central for a lot of Ratsun easterners.
  14. If you travel along the border south of Falkreath, you will come across a large Gate. Stay at the gate till an intelligent troll approaches from the other side. You can pay him with meat to open the gate.
  15. One Datsun. 2500 Miles. And a whole lotta Mexico. I'm shooting for a roadtrip to Belize (you've probably never heard of it) in September. This will be a long journey in a high mileage Datsun 620. Preparedness is priority. Maximizing Fuel and Engine Cooling Efficiency. Preparing suspension for rough roads. Optimal tires for impending conditions. Proper bribe negotiation techniques and AK47 tactical accessories. Discuss.
  16. Those guys are noobs. Run it till it cums chocolate milk out of the carburetor. But seriously you should stop driving it now before there's any serious damage. Park it till you're ready to tear into it. Drain the hot chocolate and give it some fresh fluids. You don't want water in the oil while it sits. A full gasket an seal set, piston rings, bearings, and a carb rebuild kit will run about 175$ shipped. I use ROCKAUTO.COM In comparison... I had a 67 Cadillac that sat with water in the oil due to a bad timing cover seal. Rebuild kit was 1399$ plus machine work. Not that I paid that. I just sat it in, smoking blunts and pretending there was bitches. And I was their pimp.
  17. Thanks. And the multi wire are Cali spec only.
  18. 77-78? It has a small spade near the cap and one under the mounting bolt.
  19. Not quite. Just a sputter to tell me it CAN run lol. What was hooked up to the ground spade on the base of the distributor??
