  1. The PU in the Dizzy triggers the 6AL.The MSD is a capacitive discharge(CD) ignition with a built in rev limiter. Another poser:If you have a pile of dizzys,is there a way to I.D. the years other than what has already be discussed?
  2. Since i'm using the MSD,the matchbox is kinda POINTLESS(git it?):blink:Seriously, what's the point(sorry) of the matchbox if i'm driving it with the MSD?
  3. So the 78 would be the choice for being driven by a MSD box.
  4. What year(s) dizzy are you guys referring to? Pics will be coming eventually
  5. O.K.-i got my stroker back from the machine shop.:DNow the race is on to get it in the truck and running before the wifes F-150 shits the bed. I'm going to be using a MSD 6AL to drive the distributor. The affore mentioned distributor i think is due for a replacement. So the poser is-which electrtonic distributor will work the best with the MSD?
  6. I thought that's where you were going. And you are wrong. This bull$hit that's going on would NEVER have happened 25 years ago.How do you stop it?There's only one way.Kill them. And no one has failed me in life with the exception of this country. Informed?I'm more informed than ANYONE on this BB.Make changes?:lol:That comment shows just how much you really know about the system. Also i don't make idle threats. The bullit comment was stating what needs to be done. BTW-I' know what it's like to pound a beat at 0300 when it's 0 degrees with a 20 mph wind.So you can stop preaching the cop BS to me.

  9. No sale.People killed while fleeing the PD?Complete non-sequitur. Are you saying we need a permit to hang out at McDonalds on a Friday night?Whoever enacted and or supports the idea of that ordinance needs a bullit right behind their ear.And i am NOT joking. Fire, health and safety codes for a PARKING LOT??? Are you saying that my "action" of parking and talking to other gearheads warrants a response? NHRA?They couldn't give a rats ass about the little guy. They are going the way of NASCAR.
  10. Bull$hit."Illegal gatherings"?PA-lease.Ordinances enacted soley for the purpose of F^&KING with people. If there was signage to that extent, they(the cops) were just using the ordinance to jam them them.If there wasn't signage, then it's even worse. I haven't a clue how you extrapolate murder, rape & robbery from guys hanging out with their cars. If a bunch of guys are hanging out in a corner of a lot and no overt stupidity is going on-LEAVE THEM THE F*&K ALONE.
  11. Ya'll are missing something here-They were on private property.None of those"violations" were citable untill they hit the street. The Academys aren't turning out cops these days, they're producing assholes with badges.:fu:
  12. 4/2/2008 California: Police Raid Car Enthusiast Gathering, Generate Revenue Police raid Riverside, California parking lot to issue modified car tickets at local car enthusiast gathering. Using $503,000 in federal and state gas tax revenue to pay for overtime, nine police agencies in Riverside, California sent more than one hundred police officers to surround a gathering of automotive enthusiasts. Owners of imported sport compact cars had gathered at the Canyon Crossing shopping center on Friday night to swap stories, talk about their passion for cars and show off the latest enhancements to their rides. At around 11pm police surprised participants by blocking all exits with fifty police cruisers. Officers then began a warrantless search and interrogation operation of the 150 vehicles that were present. "If you're not into street racing, why would you need that?" Riverside Police Traffic Sergeant Skip Showalter asked an enthusiast during a similar crackdown last year. "Why would you want more power going to your car?" Police issued a total of forty-eight tickets for "engine modifications" with police accusing the owners of the parked vehicles of being street racers. Another fifty tickets were issued for paperwork violations, dark window tinting and lack of a front license plate. The most revenue, however, will be generated from the fees imposed on twenty vehicles that were confiscated. Despite labeling the parking lot raid as taking place at a "street racing venue," Riverside Police offered no evidence that any street racing actually took place. Across the state, gas tax funds are regularly used to fund similar crackdowns that generate big revenue. In 2004, the California Highway Patrol issued a total of 101,553 "modified car" citations worth $10.5 million according to CHP data obtained by TheNewspaper. Other law enforcement agencies participating in Friday night's raid included the California Highway Patrol, Riverside County Sheriff's Department, and police from Baldwin Park, Fontana, Irwindale, Moreno Valley, Ontario and Mount San Jacinto Community College. 13. 2.5 is too big. What ever size the pipe is coming off the manifold will work better. As for tail pipe size, bigger is not better-it's just noisier. You will not get a"muscle car sound" out of a I-4 no matter what muffler you put on it.
  14. I just went thru this recently. The KA trans has larger(diameter)shifter rrails and input shaft bearing.
  15. I will run out first because my foot will be to the floor trying to catch you while you are at part throttle. At any given throttle position,"X" amount of fuel is going to flow.Load can NOT change how much fuel gets past the throttle blades at any given position. I agree with the filter possibility. However, this sounds like a compression issue to me AND the fact(as stated in his opening post)that the truck is new to him, doing a simple compression check is in order.
  16. That musta taken a smoke wrench and one BFH to get a I-6 in a 720.
  17. Fuel consumption is a function of RPM(all other things being equal)If an engine is turning 3000 rpm,it'll use the same amount of fuel, loaded or not. Others here have suggested things like filter, blowing out the line & fuel sock are good ideas. However,a compression test will tell you what shape the motor is in even if leaking rings is not the issue.
  18. [quote name=datsunaholic; However' date=' over time the rear-end collisions go down as folks get used to actually anticipating the light. QUOTE] This is catagorically false. There is absolutely no evidence to back this claim. If people anticipated ANYTHING on the road, the accident numbers would be halved.
  19. MSNBC updated 11:12 p.m. MT, Thurs., March. 20, 2008 Last week, Dallas officials reviewed the numbers and decided that a quarter of the cameras they had installed to catch motorists running red lights were too effective. So they shut them down. They are not alone. Faced with data showing that drivers pay attention to cameras at intersections
  20. What are the best ten years of an Irishman's life? Third grade. Did you hear about the Irishman who was tap dancing? He broke his ankle when he fell into the sink. How can you identify an Irish pirate? He's the one with patches over both eyes.
  21. What's 10 miles long and has an I.Q. of 30? St.Patty's Day parade. Did you hear about the two queer Irishmen? John Fitzpatrick & Patrick Fitzjohn. What do you call two queer Irishmen? Gae-lics.:lol:
