  1. This seems like a ploy. "Limited supply! Buy quick!!!... oh wait now I mysteriously have more. Limited supply! Buy quick!!!" <_< JK, I dont really care. I bought two to rock. Thanks!
  2. I think everyone should just skip it and we should continue the GG tradition and just make it bigger and better every year. Then NWN can suck it...
  3. Just kidding... sure I would love some pics. Im in no rush as I still have other parts to assemble as well. Thanks a bunch 'Nana.
  4. I spotted these two trucks on the way to the Southworth/Fauntleroy ferry:
  5. Does anyone have an easy way to buy things form Yahoo Japan auctions? Id rather not go through the lengthy process of setting something up for an auction that ends soon.
  6. Makes noise on high and as soon as I have it running, it starts. It sounds like a bearing might be going out or something is possibly loose. Who knows.
  7. Now that you actually say that, I already new that. I dont know how I didnt think of that. Ok, well looks like its time for a built L18 instead. I should be able to pick up the head I was looking at and just find a different set of block/internals. Car should still pick up and go compared to what Im rocking now. Edit: I just realized this thread is in the wrong section.
  8. Was there any noise in the blower fan? Mine is starting to make noise and air flow seems to be decreasing.
  9. I didnt know that happened here. Well, maybe I can find a good L18 block local and save some trouble. Mike, can you confirm that it would bolt up to the current tranny in the car?- you seem to be the resident transmission guy around here. Looks like this thread will keep going for a it longer.
  10. Hmmm that would make things easier if this were true. Though I do not have easy access to either of those like I do the L20.
  11. That would be a bit easier... thanks again. Feel free to lock/delete this thread; I have the info I need and am no longer looking for just a pressure-plate.
  12. Thanks for all the info Mike... if you didnt just get married I would kiss you on the mouth. Now the hunt starts for a transmission made for only three months lol
  13. Although I tried hard to mask the rings adequately, they did not come out as clean as I wanted. I left that at home when I went to the GG meet and this morning I re-stripped them to try again. I went out to pick up some lunch and wanted to see how well just the bare aluminum would look on the car. I mounted all four of them and when I pulled out of my driveway, one went rolling down the road. Unfortunately, my hunger over-powered my want for the hubcaps so I just took them off and got a burrito. Ill re-bend the teeth on them so that they bite a little better. Im going to have to think of a better way to get cleaner edges so that I can fully recondition the hubcaps back to OEM status. Oh! And to the question posted earlier about how much yellow is seen when the caps are mounted: all of it. None of the caps cover the yellow pin stripping so theres that. I just transferred a bunch of money from my PayPal account (from helping Tim pick up his wagon) and once that shows up in my account I will be buying new shocks and springs for the rear. After all the driving around Seattle and their shitty roads, I need to take care of the rear end of my car. I dont want to chance the rubbing any longer if Im going to be taking it out much.
  14. Ok, so now Im on the hunt for a full transmission lol... damn it. Ive seen a few floor-to-column shift kits for older muscle cars, so I feel if I can study both diagrams for the B&W and 3N transmissions I should be able to make something work. To the Bat-cave! drawing board!
  15. Im thinking its time for some Taco del Mar... Im starving.

Hell yes. Think I'll get some too.

  16. Im jealous of the DATSUN graphic on the windshield... very retro. You should keep it.
  17. Breakfast WAS delicious. Man, I wish that place was closer... It was a perfect idea to add gravy and bacon salt to my scramble. Legit.
  18. Truth! You forgot to add how you got a new girlfriend out of the trip as well. Thanks again to everyone who went to breakfast as Luna's... it was awesome.
  19. If the column shift for the 3N71B was on the passenger side, can I not make my own shift cable for the early assembly and route it in the same fashion the later assembly? It is cable actuated is it not? I have not specifically looked at the Datsun assembly, but Ive seen other column shifters using that method. Time to look at the FSM to verify. Id rather not spend the money on a plate if it wont work... I dont know too many people that want to stick with auto. I still dont know why I want to... just for nostalgia sake I guess LOL. Thanks for all the help Mike.
  20. Neither of my four wheels have a full set of lug nuts on them... one wheel only has three studs. Oops!
  21. Its also got a bawse stereo system... I like the floor mounted dual speakers. Edit: Youve had this car for like five hours. Not only do I not see a build thread up yet, but there are far too few pictures posted of this thing. Get to work!
  22. All the good photos from the day are in the Golden Gardens meet thread...
  23. It wasnt that bad. It was right on the water so there was a bit of a colder breeze, but it seems like the the only person seriously cold was Doug... but he was complaining all morning about everything.
