  1. It was done by race cars back in the day so that if their headlights broke on the track, they wouldn't get glass all over the ground. Saved people from getting flats. When they left the track they took that shit off. Welcome to Ratsun.
  2. Sweet rally setup on that 510... I wonder if he really uses them.
  3. I have 15x8 +12s in the rear of my 4dr. and it fits perfect.
  4. Jun, you need to get them to do a 4dr. 510 in that wagon color. Then I can have a mini Minty :D
  5. I think that looks stupid, but it looks well built. I give him props for the execution. Id like to say Ive never seen this before, but "utes" like this were all over Perth and Freemantle (Australia) when I was there.
  6. I have a complete EI dizzy and pedestal. Pm me of you're interested.

This thread makes me happy for a couple reasons... Not only did you decide to keep your fathers truck and get it back on the road, but you're also going about figuring the truck out right. Too many times do new people come around and just want to be spoon fed information instead taking it upon themselves to learn. You might know next to nothing about Datsuns (and even cars in general), but you were smart enough to look for a tech manual to help out. Z-Train hit the nail on the head about Chilton/Haynes books. There's some good info in there, but FSMs are where it's at. What I would recommend doing since you know next to nothing about cars would be to hop on Google or Wikipedia and look up the general basics of how each system and component work. It will help out immensely in your troubleshooting and maintenance. Welcome to Ratsun, welcome to Datsuns, and welcome to cars. Good luck.
  8. Pm me the info Dave. I've got some space on a server you can use.
  9. I actually really want one... MKI VWs are the only fwd I'd consider owning. There's a yellow caddy with a topper on it in a local yard here, but it's pretty beat. It might be a little much since I know nothing about VWs. I troll CL all the time looking at what MKIs are for sale in my area. There's a nice looking 4dr Rabbit up right now I wouldn't mind having. Just don't have the cash.

  11. No. Intercooler piping is always positive pressure, so although the piping is longer its still filled with boost ready to feed the engine. I've seen a few articles and webisodes featuring STS vehicles and technoology. A friend of no e also drives a STS twin turbo C6 and he says lag has never been an issue (due to the turbo location).
  12. Truck and pictures look great... nice update.
  13. Id like to pick up a second car, but the couple I like are FWD which I refuse to drive. I was just curious on price. Id love a MKI Rabbit/Jetta... maybe Ill pick up some sort of Type 3. Or just give up and buy a 510 wagon. Who knows.
  14. Shit... I totally spaced on checking on that light for you.
  15. Bump. Ill be adding a few more items tomorrow.

    Pin-ups

Thank you. I figured some of the guys here would enjoy those when I stumbled upon them. Here are two more I realized I didnt post... now Im actually out of them:
  17. That's my birthday! I'll probably be there anyway...
  18. At least it was an RX2. Still enjoyed meeting you Jason. I'd be down for another end of the season meet... This time focusing on Ratsun members. North or south Sound is a drive for me either way so it doesn't matter. As long as its not the 27th/28th this month I'll be there.
  19. Window cranks, headlight switch, hazard switch, and glovebox hinge stop sold to Derek72_521.
