  1. It was Dickey BBQ and it was free. But yes... small personal BBQs would be sweet.
  2. Im pretty sure I have one of those if youd just like to purchase one and not fab one up.
  3. I hope my comment wasnt taken as a bash on your price... it was a bash on my lack of funds. I dont like I can spend that kind of money just so I can have a spare I dont really need.
  4. Well, hopefully you find a car with no rust, runs great, and a complete original interior for your price these days... Good luck with the hunt :)
  5. That picture was taken a week before I removed my dash. Dash has since been swapped and all is right with the World again. Interior is complete right now. I thought I did? Let me check.
  6. Its not a complete basket case... and almost all the stock interior is there minus carpet.... which would just mean he would have to buy something from you, so shut up or you dont get a sale. Im trying to help everyone out  Plus, Im sure Hobbes could get it running for the right deal. That L20 is ready to drop in so Im sure something could be worked out.
  7. To each their own... the above saying is how I feel about 720s. Some people can justify the price of that grille and some cannot, but that doesnt give people the right to talk shit about fair market value grille prices (especially in someones FS ad) when they obviously have no clue whats going on. Any classic foreign parts can be spendy and some cant afford it. Not everyone can afford the same things... Ive only been in the 510 game for a short period, but I too have seen a constant increase in prices. Granted there was an obvious shift in the 510 market after that video, but its not like hes the end-all-be-all in the car value market. He just gave it a little nudge in the direction it was already headed.

  9. It's funny how many people complain about the prices of those grilles... And they always sell for that price. There's obviously a market for it. People crack me up. At a bare minimum think of it as this: JDM only, one year only, 40yr old car, very rare, and the demand is high. Parts like that fetch a premium. At one point those were decently cheap (compared to current value), but prices on those have risen far before Leno came on the scene. It seems the "Leno Effect" is the new "hipster." Everyone thinks that because its expensive it must be because Jay. There's a difference between a piece if crap 280zx or rusted out b210 and a very rare perfectly restored JDM grille. Don't cry Leno because you're too poor to play the game.
  10. I was hoping you were going to pull in somewhere, but you jumped on 303 instead. Clean truck!
  11. I wish they would get off their asses and reply... Psh I'm sure ill already be paying enough, doubt buckets will make that much difference.
  12. Exactly. You'd never be able to find out who actually drove it over the years. Hearsay is worthless... Unless there's some sort of certified log book or celebrities are coming forward to confirm they drove that specific car, then you got nothing. It's a cool race car, but not for that price.
  13. No, not at all. Both the SSS and GL grilles like this came with the Supersonic badge I believe. Then what made it either a SSS or GL was the secondary badge and what type of car it was installed on. The core grille is exactly the same. The seller is right in calling it what it is... there's no forgerys or misrepresentation at all. This is a 1972 Supersonic/SSS/GL grille that's been beautifully restored. It's rare, in great shape, and the grille everyone seems to want.
  14. Theres hundreds of seats that are black...
  15. Thanks! I was very happy with it. There are a few more things I need to do for it to be 100%, but it looks complete and thats what I needed for the show on Sunday. I love the way it came out and think it was well worth the effort. Once again, big shout out to JRock for the powder work. It wouldnt have come out so nice without his hard work. If youre remotely close to Olympia, please hit him up for work... you wont be disappointed. Im sure that as I go along, I will keep adding to this if it involves the dash somehow. Stay tuned, this is always a work in progress.
  16. Thanks for the offer. Home Depot had them and the dash restoration is complete. No more parts needed :)
  17. See above post. It was a GL grille where the GL emblem broke in half so no emblem on it. There is a Supersonic emblem on eBay right now though.
  18. Ha yeah, I don't know how I missed that knob the first time around. Highdesertdatsun- was a great buyer. Fast payment. Would desk with again. Jrock- once again always pulls through with great work. Fair prices. Always willing to work with you to get the items right. Great guy. Datsunfreak- awesome seller that worked me an unbelievable deal for a couple items. Pleasure to do business with.
  19. You could call it a Supersonic grille as its the only one with a Supersonic logo, but... Technically it was a GL grille as that's the car it came off of. I'm the one that sold this grille to Wisk (if I remember correctly). He did a fantastic job refinishing it. GLWS. I was sad to hear you sold your Coupe... hope all is well.
  20. To make it legal you have to take it to your DOL/HP with both titles to transfer the VINs. No one is saying you cant do a frame swap or a cab swap. What was brought up was taking a perfectly good truck and replacing the VIN tag on te dash so that he didnt have to pass smog anymore. Then after that he tried to sell the truck as a pre-smog vehicle when it in fact is not. Thats the root of that specific problem. No one here has any issues with customizing. We dont want people coming into our community and trying to defraud buyers with their illegal shenanigans.
  21. Yep, I loved mine. The bracker broke inside the seat so I had to do a crazy cholo lean to sit in the seat. It became too uncomfortable... if that didnt happen, I would have kept them in there.
  22. Because they are 40 year old normally ripped to shit seats. I used mine until they broke... I personally like 510 seats.
