Joecar
My original head cracked and i need a new one. Where can i find a new head with everything on it? Or should i used the old components and install it on the new head? Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
I doubt you will find a bare head casting anywhere. Try to find a used Z24 head from a wrecking yard. A used replacement head should have the valves, rockers and cam in it. You don't want to put your valve train parts into a different head if you can avoid it. Quote Link to comment

Joecar
Cause there was alot of water in the oil. When u went to drain it, it was just water then oil mixed with water Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Z24 are well known for blowing their head gaskets. If you keep driving the coolant steams and passes by the rings and get into and mixes with the oil. Probably nothing wrong with the head just a bad gasket. That said it should be checked for flatness. Wire wheel the combustion chamber clean. Easy enough to remove those two valves and brush them clean too. $30 headgasket is way cheaper than $800 and a $30 headgasket. Quote Link to comment

jagman
I have two complete Z24 heads but I live in SW Virginia. I have no idea what shipping would be from here. Quote Link to comment
bottomwatcher
I have taken several good complete longblocks to the scrapyard because no one wanted them. I would look for a complete long block rather than try to resurrect what you have. Quote Link to comment
