My '55 Caddie also had a taillight filler like the '56 Chevy above.  Everybody I showed that to loved it 🙂

My daily in high school was a '57 Bel Air, and it always got a few weird looks at the gas station. 😁

Finally did something I had been meaning to do for awhile, and that was switch out the oil and temp senders with these. I needed to repo my autometer senders and install these for the new gauges...

I then removed the stock license plate light because the wire had been ripped out , and it was a bit crusty. I happened to have a spare LED license plate light meant for a motorcycle, so I made a little aluminum plate to mount it to the bumper with...

And here it is, bolted to the bumper with the wiring ran/connected...

The AN conversion fitting for the master is -3AN, but the converter for the slave cylinder was made to suit -4AN. So when I went to get a -3AN hose, I also picked up a -4AN to -3AN adapter...

Got that installed in the slave, then installed the stainless line...

Got a line with a straight on one end, 90 on the other. I wanted to route it like this to allow for maximum header clearance...

While swapping out the engine sensors, I also had a look at the sender that came with the fuel gauge (right), versus the Mustang sender I had bought to match the tank (left). I think maybe I can merge the two of them into something that works, and plays nice with the gauge...

After thinking on it a bit, I went ahead and got a 90 degree adapter for the master end of the hose. One, to redirect the hose in a more favorable way, but also because the hose is touching the firewall-to-frame brace/body mount. Changing to a 90 degree there should get the hose completely above the brace, rather than beside.

This master goes in at a 45 degree angle and is then rotated up to straight to "click" into place and lock it down. I have suspicions that it is not rotating around far enough to lock in as it should.

And this I did.

Now the master swings over and clicks into position correctly, and the hose goes above the previously mentioned body brace. I do prefer this hose routing also.

After that. I spent the next two hours wrestling the brake line out that goes from the brake master to the rear axle.

It is extremely long, and was installed at the factory between the body and frame, making it almost impossible to remove without separating the body from the frame. 🙄

Tried to work on installing the new brake lines, but it was kicking my ass so I moved on to some other stuff on the to do list...

Made a thick daddy wire from the alternator charge post back to the bulkhead fitting

image.jpeg.f0472b0ff671df54a64fa5f6803ec453.jpeg

And a new battery cable from the starter to the bulkhead fitting

(Yes, I could have run the alt wire to the starter instead, but wanted it tucked hard against the block and figured this would work better)

On the inside, ran another thick daddy wire from the bulkhead going up

Over to the left side of the dash to be the main power feed for the fusebox, through the kill switch...

Did I show you the custom walnut steering wheel I made for it in this thread? If not, then...

He's fine. Just avoiding having any online presence whatsoever. 😋

The international man of mystery.  I can relate.  Other than here, I am mostly doing the same.
