KELMO
Just curious if anyone has used a B210 (A13, A14) fuel pump as a replacement for a 1200 (A12) fuel pump (both are mechanical). The part #'s are different but the engines are pretty much the same. The only thing I can think of that would be different would be the arm that hits the cam to create the pumping action. Tried Rock Auto and NLA. Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Fuel pump is located differently also. Worth trying I think. Quote Link to comment

Morrisun
The A12 front dizzy engines take a short arm mechanical fuel pump and the A13, A14 and A15 take the long arm pump as well as the later A12A engine block. The arms: http://datsun1200.com/modules/mediawiki/index.php?title=Fuel_Pump picture about half way down the page?? 2 Quote Link to comment
KELMO
So, my dumb ass. The wife was in a hurry to go some where and I wasn't thinking......I have 2 A14 motors in the shop.....geeez. Some comparo as GGzilla used to say.... Difference in arms. A12 A14 So my choices....... 1. Just rob the one off of the grey car because it is only a couple years old. 2. Throw on one of the A14 pumps and see if the 1/4 inch difference is really an issue 3. Buy an A14 pump from rock auto and swap out the diaphragm. 4. Order one from fleabay and wait til June 19th for it to arrive. I think I am gonna go with door #1 kids, cuz there is a car show in 14 days. I'll figure the rest out later. 2 Quote Link to comment
Morrisun
Here is a rebuild kit, not inexpensive but may have it by end of the week: http://www.new-datsun-parts.com/datsun-1200-parts-exterior.html I checked what I have, lots of used A12 short arm fuel pumps, but no new ones! 2 Quote Link to comment
KELMO
That's funny, I hit their site and didn't see any engine section so I just panned it. That kit is cheaper than the Thailand one so maybe. Thanks man. Have a few A12 pumps laying around but just not sure if they are good or not, Rape the grey car again....poor thing, it may never be on the road again. Maybe I should get my buddy to fab some brackets and throw an A14 in the grey car. B) 2 Quote Link to comment

Dguy210
Just curious if anyone has used a B210 (A13, A14) fuel pump as a replacement for a 1200 (A12) fuel pump (both are mechanical). The part #'s are different but the engines are pretty much the same. The only thing I can think of that would be different would be the arm that hits the cam to create the pumping action. Tried Rock Auto and NLA. My faulty memory believes there is a spacer that can be used to allow for the long arm in place of the short arm. I think I tried bolting a long arm up at one point without the spacer and you just can't get it to go together, but this was like 20 years ago so take it as you will. EDIT: I don't see anything about that on the datsun1200.com site so it may be a bad memory. I also did tons of redneck tractor repairs on that old 1200 so who knows what I cobbled together to get it to work too. http://datsun1200.com/modules/mediawiki/index.php?title=Fuel_Pump Quote Link to comment
KELMO
There is a spacer on both engines, and it is the same spacer. Using two of them would most likely move the arm back but I think that may be a bit questionable......even for me. The grey coupe gave up its fuel pump for the green car. Will order a repair kit. 1 Quote Link to comment
