bananahamuck
Look up Mazda wiper motor mod.How to can be found in the Dime Quarterly pages. I dunno man ,, maybe a few years ago when those motors were cheap, cuz have you priced a 626 wiper motor lately?? Having a stock 510 motor rebuilt is probably the same price now. Lockleaf
Here's the DQ Article http://dimequarterly.blogspot.com/2011/08/tech-how-to-mazda-wiper-motor.html?m=1 I used a 720 motor on my 510. It was fairly easy to fit, but i also am running a 720 wiring harness so it clipped right in. You can see it i my build thread if you care to look. 2 Quote Link to comment

bananahamuck
True but you can always junkyard a Mazda motor too. Are you sure about that?? This is 200 miles out from his location ( Woodland Hills ) There's ,,, exactly one :) hell GLCs aren't even listed as an option anymore http://www.picknpull.com/check_inventory.aspx?Address=91367&Lat=34.172610&Lng=-118.620645&Make=Mazda&Model=626&Distance=200 Like i said a few years ago that write-up was the thing,, but 85-88 626s just aren't out there anymore. And he will still have to take knob and weld it to "new" motor arm.. Yeah we could do it but ,, not everyone has a welder. Quote Link to comment
bananahamuck
I have seen a professionally rebuilt wiper motor in my brothers car and it isn't slow at all,,, i think it was $70. all said and done by a guy Pumpkin210 sent us to in Puyallup. 1 Quote Link to comment
kelowg
Does current work at all? If,u can disassemble,clean/grease and reassemble it. Only hard part is getting brush end back on. Took about 3 times to clean out 43 yr old grease(di electric grease). Mine wouldnt park correctly. Added solder to wiper contact arm. 2 Quote Link to comment

Mazda motors are hard to find in a junk yard. I looked for a while and had no luck. http://community.ratsun.net/topic/68033-finally-found-a-510-2-door-1972/page-2 Quote Link to comment
racerx
yeh, probably better idea to buy it autozone or oreillys, I think they are like 80-90 bucks. Thanks for the write up, will look into this when mine eventually goes out. Quote Link to comment

Thanks for the write up, will look into this when mine eventually goes out. If they're chinese like the one i replaced on my mustang....he'll be back in 7 to 8 months....and I'm not the only one who had to exchange the replacement motor, try to find an original or rebuild yours.
