AnthonyG214
Tit i am enlisting yalls help and i know we can make this happen. My brothers go to a day program for adults with disablities. They have people from the autism sectrum all the way down to cerebral palsy. They were donated two datsun shells. But they were completely stripped of parts. They have a automotive program starting so i will be helping them build this to show condition. Over the next month or so i will be collecting any parts you guys are willing to donate from your builds. Doesnt have to be brand new but please nothing broken. They literally have nothing for it so anything will help. Thanks in advance bumps are appreciated Quote Link to comment
flatcat19
You may need a bit better of a story or some proof to sway the notion of panhandling. Quote Link to comment

zed1
http://www.mypossibilities.org A wonderful program, my nephew has attended since day one. Jim Arnett and I coordinated with Michael Thomas, executive director to have one of the 240Zs donated. Michael is a true Datsun enthusiast, he created the Facebook group Datsun Classifieds (https://www.facebook.com/groups/464479646940228/). If you have desire to assist people with developmental disabilities, this is one organization and one project you should consider supporting. Keith Quote Link to comment

Oh and post those pics That would be a good start. If you cover shipping id send some parts I have laying around, that is if they are for the correct model and you need them Quote Link to comment
MikeRL411
Details, details, details! Please expand on the make, model and year of the donated carcases so that meaningful responses [and parts / cash] can be provided. I know that you posted this in the best of intentions, but we cannot realisticaly respond with such sparse base facts. Please! provide more details! We have all donated to the basic "spread the goodies" response when sufficient background details have been provided, so do yourself and all of us donors a favor and provide some more background! I just today gave away some unobtainium Datsun 411 parts today to a deserving restorer because he had a realistic restoration pathway and I had otherwise unobtainable restoration parts. Like a heater core and a under dash console for the choke, lights and heater control. 2 Quote Link to comment

AnthonyG214
Zed1 explained alot. Im kind of quietly aquuiring parts to present to them all at once. Location is plano gexas Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Free can get awful expensive. A 45 year old jap tin car is rare and getting even rarer, parts rarer still. Think of a jigsaw with 99% of the pieces missing. This is already hard enough if you live in the PNW and have lots of money to throw at it. I suggest getting something much newer, easier and 'Big Three'. Much better chance of locating donated parts for it and getting it completed with minimal sitting around looking at the shlel and waiting... waiting... waiting.. 1 Quote Link to comment
KoHeartsGPA
I wish there was some thought put into these programs, I get it and I'm all for it.....but.....why take in a vehicle to witch parts are not only difficult to get but also in many cases expensive.....there are hundreds of hondas at junkyard in every state.....just a thought. Any chance of getting whoever is in charge to sell said shells and get a Honda?, it'll help more IMO. Good luck. Quote Link to comment
AnthonyG214
I was able to find the tranny and motor within 2 days using my contacts through another build i did. I definitely should have put more thought into the post posting here but it was suggested by someone on my other post. The motor and tranny have been located. Powdercoating services has been obtained. Im about 50% there already. 1 Quote Link to comment

AnthonyG214
Because im getting alot of help through there and it seems to be more picking apart the post and losing site of my original goal on here. I do not have a photobucket account and have not been in town to get pictures until tomorrow. This is a non profit. I am offering my mechanical services to them. This is all about the special needs kids up there. Quote Link to comment
zed1
AnthonyG214, I think you are missing a great resource by not posting progress and updates on Ratsun. The folks here are very generous with their knowledge and I am certain you may need their knowledge base when questions or trouble shooting issues arise. Keith 1 Quote Link to comment
racerx
Anthonyg214, I worked in Non-profits before for 15 years and I know that your cause can be a tough sell. When I asked for donations in the past, like to United Way or major companies in Silicon Valley, I gave them a written and specific proposal. The proposal should be written in a letter head from the non-profit, include the goal/outcome of the said project, specific items needed, dates when needed, cost of project, etc. In other words, you need a business plan. The main reason why you need a written plan is so that you have a better idea of what you need to make your goal a successful one. By writing to us and stating "collecting any parts you guys are willing to donate", what does this mean? Most of us here also don't do Face Book which is only one of the many ways people can communicate. So as they say when in Rome do what the Romans do. 1 Quote Link to comment

MikeRL411
Don't neglect to include the Nissan USA Tennessee folks in your plans! Their collections, parts and advertising departments just might be interested enough to help out in return for bragging rights to a "We are good fellas" ad campaign. Think big! Quote Link to comment
