heirfaus
Originally I test fit the arms before I sent it out to the powder coat shop and the right one didn't fit quite right. I got it back from the P-coat shop today and I test fit one of my spare arms and it fit ok. I need to make sure my arm off the car isn't bent. Quote Link to comment

heirfaus
I don't know if any of you have tried to remove ES poly bushings, but that lube is STICKY!! I had to do this to remove the center pins: Started it with a larger rod and then put the screw drive on the edge of the pin and pushed it out Impatiently waiting for the 2 bushings to come in this week, I got one side set up. I remember one of the Matt's showed my an easy way to remove them and I thought it might work to install them too. Guess what it did:p hooray!! I sanded the inside smooth and then spray some graphite lube on the inside and on the part I was pushing in. One gave me some resistance and the other went in pretty smooth. Well, left side is pretty much together, noltec bushings are in, and the diff is in. Just waiting on the other two bushings and then I'm back on the road in no time:D Edited October 13, 2008 by heirfaus Quote Link to comment
bonvo
why couldnt you keep your poly stuff in there looking to sell it now that its out though? :D Quote Link to comment
heirfaus
The poly is too stiff. When you adjust for camber and caster it stress the boly bushings and the will fail prematurely, just like in the front LCA's. Yeah, I have ES poly rear control arm bushings and ES poly front TC rod bushings. Both in great shape. If anyone needs them I let go of them cheap. Quote Link to comment
slodat
Chris, you are missing your vent in your differential. Quote Link to comment

No problem at all. Good info. That explains why the ES bushings are so much more expensive than the Factory stuff. But I do have to say that when I put the Poly bushings in the front of my 90 325i it felt nice and tight and was a worthy upgrade (granted the old ones had 200K on them). Ice, what book is that? What did the Noltec bushings cost? How long did it take to get them? I can't quite remember, you could email them. I've had the Noltec for while now. Quote Link to comment
Icehouse
Ice, what book is that? Its a must A must have for anyone interested in suspension, the way the book is written it is very easy to understand. I've read it a few times now :D Quote Link to comment
heirfaus
Check this out!! Napa on the left and Nissan on the right. This Napa one is a piece of crap!! I wish I had a 4th Nissan one:mad: Quote Link to comment
slodat
Have you checked with the friends up North? Quote Link to comment
heirfaus
No I haven't. I could probably get one, but honestly I don't want to wait 3 more weeks to get it back on the road:( Quote Link to comment
slodat
Would you rather pull it all apart to replace a bushing down the line? Quote Link to comment
heirfaus
Welp today was a downer. I was all set to have the dime back on the road, but alas the crappy bushing fron Napa had a different ID. It was just barely too small. Looks like another 2-3 weeks now:( Quote Link to comment
heirfaus
Back in action. I found a solution to my problem and it's back on the road. The Poly subframe bushings are WAYYYYYY better than my old worn out ones. The old ones used to shift a little and these are nice and tight like it should be;) Off to the alignment shop on Tuesday:) Quote Link to comment
slodat
What was the solution to your problem? You going to meet up with us on Saturday? Quote Link to comment
