trout104
Hi all Ratsun members; I purchased this truck back in '93, drove it for about 5 years. Then like alot of others I know, marriage and then twin boys kinda took the front seat and everything sort of stopped. Fast forward 14 years and 8 vehicels later. One of my sons fell in love with the little yellow truck out back. He arranged 5 buddy's to come over and push it into the shop. And then all the fun began.Taking many, many helpful hints from members here, we started to R&R just about everything we could take-off, clean and replace. Thank god for Rock Auto. Not being mechanics or body men, we researched what we could, and winged it when we couldn't. We did have one big mess that we didn't expect when we painted it. I went and pick up the painting supplies at a local supply shop. When talking to the employees, they instructed me to reduce the paint 2-1 and spray. When in accuallity I was supposed to 2-1 paint to hardener. SO YA.....off comes the paint...they supplied us with a remover that we soaked rags in and wiped off the paint. It did come off fairly easy but what a complete BUMMER!!!! I'm hoping to paint next weekend http://s376.photobucket.com/user/73620yellow/media/110_zps2cfyzpyr.jpg.html?sort=3&o=27http://s376.photobucket.com/user/73620yellow/media/054_zpsdyaucvtc.jpg.html?sort=3&o=26http://s376.photobucket.com/user/73620yellow/media/024_zpsalqs1k6d.jpg.html?sort=3&o=4 http://s376.photobuc...yellow/library/ http://s376.photobuc...html?sort=3&o=4 4 Quote Link to comment

trout104
With the dash.I sanded down the cracks so they are flat. Filled them with marine epoxy, it might take a couple coats. Let it dry then sand down the whole dash. I coated it with undercoat, as the bedliner is to rough [just my opinion]. sanded it a bid then coated it with clear satin. 1 Quote Link to comment
trout104
I have fixed some pretty bad stuff in the past and they have lasted fairly well. I also did the console. and the door handles, but the handles didn't turn out as good. and of course the kick plates 3 Quote Link to comment
