q-tip
Not sure if it fits, I know it's live axle with rear disc. Quote Link to comment
mrbigtanker
Not sure if it fits, I know it's live axle with rear disc. So i just want to switch the pumpkin out if possible. Quote Link to comment
ol' 320
Ray: I seem to recall that there is a Detroit Locker out there that will fit the H190. There were some offered for sale not too long ago.... perhaps in the last two years? This might be a lead. Then there is the MBT option .... the OS Giken one. That is supposed to be silly money, but I am sure you know a guy in Japan who knows a guy who could maybe get you one. You are the Master source for long lost near mythical Datsun stuff. These are the only sources I have heard anyone talk of recently for new items. Your truck would be awesome with something taller, like a 3:70 gearset. Even a set of 4:11s would be nice because if I recall correctly, I think you were running a 4:37 pumpkin when you took me for a ride. Of Course, when one has a high rpm beast like yours, who cares about low gears! You can zing that thing to the moon:) Quote Link to comment

ol' 320
Both units I am talking about are for an H190. As far as the gears in my previous post, I was thinking about your truck. In the wagon I would go 3:70s, based on a couple of wagons I have driven with L18-L20s 1 Quote Link to comment
mrbigtanker
Got another rear end housing In the powder coat shop. Hoping it would be done today. Any body now the axle bearing part numbers. And is there a pumpkin gasket or just use sealant. Thank you Quote Link to comment
tr8er
I think Mike has some blue RTV left over from his engine re-build. Haa! No idea though, but buddy, you done good. Posi rear would be a big plus. 1 Quote Link to comment

ol' 320
Ray, when Wayne swapped gear sets in the H190 in the 320, we just cut a new gasket form a manila folder. Traced it out, cut it out, and put it in dry. Not a drip during the next two years of use... :) How is the L-18 working out after putting a few more miles on it since JCCS? 1 Quote Link to comment
Stoffregen Motorsports
And is there a pumpkin gasket or just use sealant. The Right Stuff RTV works great on diffs and oil pans. 1 Quote Link to comment

Stoffregen Motorsports
There's a generic sealant made by Threebond that is the same as "Yamabond". It's number 1211 and is great for water and carburetor/intake sealing. They do also call it "Hondabond" or Kawibond" so don't feel bad using it on a Datsun (Datsunbond). Hell, evenToyota repackages it with their name on it. The reason I like using The Right Stuff on diffs and oil pans is because it has unbeatable strength, but also because it's black as most diffs and oil pans are. 2 Quote Link to comment
