BlueJuke
Hi all. I checked in on the Goon thread, but figured I'd start a new one. I picked up a '69 wagon a couple months ago and am loving it. I have had a '69 2 door 510 and a '77 620 in the past as well as a host of other Nissans ('80 210 wagon, '89 pickup, '95 SE-R, '11 Juke). The good stuff: - It is pretty darned straight, no real cancer that I can see. Floors and rear deck are solid. - Interior is decent except for the driver's seat - Previous owner races Datsun 1200s, so he knew how to take care of it - At some point it had an L18 swap and it runs pretty well. I have been daily driving it. The not so good: - The 4 speed is occasionally a little crunchy into 2nd and 3rd (though that might just be me being so used to nice syncros in the Juke) - It had a pretty bad respray at some point and they painted all the rubber! First yellow, then black on top of that. :( So I'll need a full set of door seals. - There is some paint bubbling and surface rust I'm looking forward to upgrading brakes and lowering it a bit, then replace rubber and get a decent paint job, then maybe someday a KA24... Thanks for reading, Sparky And now a wall of pictures ;-) Why? Why would they paint the weather stripping and window rubber??!! 5 Quote Link to comment
spottedog
Wow, it's real clean! Beautiful car. Quote Link to comment
tr8er
Glad you started a thread. A very nice car to start from. You like the Juke? Off-road or street? Quote Link to comment
bananahamuck
I believe this is this car ,, it was owned by a really old dude that had it sitting in his driveway for like 10 years. If it's the same one,,the polished SUs on my sons A10 are off that car... The old dude might not have been much of a painter but his heart was in the right place. Son was going to drive up on lawn and stop so you can hear me slightly freaking out that the tweaker/scrapper neighbors were looking at us.  Quote Link to comment
BlueJuke
Funny! When/where was that video taken? I bought it from a guy in Vancouver, WA and I think he bought from someone in eastern Washington. Quote Link to comment

Yeah, I really like the Juke. Close to 190 HP stock on such a little car scoots it along nicely. :) Purely street for me. I bought the FWD since the AWD wasn't available with a manual transmission. banzai510(hainz)
turn the battery around so the + side is facing towards the back in case battery moves fwd in a wreck and will short out on the hood as it gets reals close to hitting already( buy shorten cables when you do this. most ground the batter by/on the head as the should be a bolt hole by the fuel pump. Jukes? I just dont see why people buy those Quote Link to comment

bananahamuck
Funny! When/where was that video taken? I bought it from a guy in Vancouver, WA and I think he bought from someone in eastern Washington. I can't tell you where that video was taken,, :ninja: ,, but i took it for member named Izzo to freak him out. I can probably tell you for sure if it is/was on Tuesday or Wedsnday as i have to drop off a B210 rearend out at the Elma Datsun farm,, and i'll see if Bill saved any pictures of the one he had for a bit ,, which i am almost positive was yours.. the video was weird sneaky but my sons and i talked to the old dude in person at least 3 times,, while standing next to the car.. and again after it was cleaned up and ready to be sold, out at "the coumpound" 1 Quote Link to comment
Duncan
The painted rubber is an annoyance, but the wagon looks good! Nice score. I wish the one I bought (and now restoring) was in that condition. Quote Link to comment
BlueJuke
The goon has 95K on the odometer. Here are the pedals. What do you think, has it rolled over? Quote Link to comment

bananahamuck
Yep, that's it! I hope you don't think i'm trying to take anything away from how nice i think this car is,, believe me we "negotiated" more than a few times to get her ourselves.. But being there at the right time worked out for the bastard,, who got it from the guy. Bill bought it from the old guy for $1000. bucks and cleaned her up a tiny bit. The old guy was pretty into the car but he has something cooler in the garage that has taken all his interest and money so he let that wagon sit. here's a picture of the carb set it had on it when bill bought it. ( this is them on my sons 79 wagon) Almost certain odometer is rolled over,, like i said the OG owner took a whole lotta care of it (well except for paint,, but his heart was in the right place) till the new girl came into his life. 1 Quote Link to comment

BlueJuke
A very long overdue update on the changes over the last year: dog-leg 5 speed a ridiculous glass doorknob shift knob ZX wheels, struts/brakes couple inch drop about half the T3 catalog :) I also picked up window channel felt and weatherstripping, hope to do some of that this winter. 4 Quote Link to comment
Dream510
Beautiful wagon, those t3 parts are a bunch of money. I want to get some coilovers my self but gotta wait on other things. Are you planning on lowering any more? 1 Quote Link to comment
