Eomund
Just a quick question for y'all. My 521's Radiator got a small leak. Looking to replace it with aluminum. Will I be able to use a radiator for a 510? I can alter the mounting it it's not too majorly different. I did check and they're different part numbers, so just wanted to be sure before spending $300+ Thanks Quote Link to comment
Laecaon
Identical, with exception of how it mounts. One uses just bolts, the other uses nuts and bolts. All holes line up perfectly. Quote Link to comment

Eomund
Ah, that explains the part number difference. That's an easy fix, just a longer hose for my overflow. Quote Link to comment
r0p0doe
If your going to go with an aftermarket aluminum I highly recommend going with a koyorad. I'm runnig one right now and it keeps my car nice and cool. I don't even go over 180 sitting or rolling in slow traffic, it solved my heating up issue. 1 Quote Link to comment

r0p0doe
Lol, just ordered a 3 core Koyo about 2 hours ago. :) Wise man, and im surwe you already know this but just in case you didn't if your going to add water to the new radiator fluid make sure it's purified water. It's better for the coolant system it doesn't have all that extra crap which wares down and rust cooling parts. Quote Link to comment
Eomund
The glycol in antifreeze is supposed neutralize all the crap from tap water, but unfortunately not all of it. You can't use distilled water though 'cause lacking all the minerals to allow it to cool properly. Running tap water through a filter is the best you can do without wasting a lot of money on purchased water. 1 Quote Link to comment
henry
You can use Reverse Osmosis water from the dispensers outside any supermarket store. [bring your own container/.35/g.] So Cal. Henry Quote Link to comment
Laecaon
My re-cored 3 row brass radiator with a 195 thermostat Keeps my L series at 195 no matter how I drive in whatever temperature. Thats a bored over 2mm L18 block. It likes the 195 thermostat more than the 180. Quote Link to comment
kelowg
521 had rad for j series and another for L series. L is same as 510, j connections diff locations Quote Link to comment

Eomund
Got my radiator. So shiny and lovely. Damn thing didn't come with a radiator cap. Just spent $250, you'd expect it to come with a fuckin' cap. Well, just came back from O'Reilly's with one so I'm good. Just.... annoyed lol Quote Link to comment
