Chrisdevasher
For the guys that love bench http://s1220.photobucket.com/user/chrisdevasher/media/Datsun/4DA96206-BB63-4040-B27A-5F5D25ACCDA2.mp4.html Should be able to keep mine. Tranny and motor are right where they need to be. If anything I'll persuade the shifter a little bit and put a slight bend in it. Quote Link to comment
wayno
It looks like it will fit, barely. This is what my shifter looked like before I removed the bench seat in my 520KC ute project and put in bucket seats. Quote Link to comment
Chrisdevasher
Fits good enough for me to keep the bench seat. I'll just get a somewhat taller shift knob and rock it Quote Link to comment

Chrisdevasher
Alright I've been slacking..time to do some updating. Got the engine bay prepped. BEFORE AFTER New turbo lines installed and s14 waterneck Custom ratsun motor mounts. Yes they're hockey pucks. Got the engine wired up (wire tuck) Transmission mount made. I cut and reused the stock l16 mount and welded it to a flat piece and drilled holes and used the preexisting crossmember holes. Relocated and put a battery under the emissions cover in the bed Also installed and wired up the fuel pump. Waiting on my radiator and alternator to arrive. The steering bar should be done this week. And if I find a compressor and it fits I'll be able to keep my ac! Quote Link to comment
Chrisdevasher
Also I have a question about a few wires going to the ignition. Couldn't seem to find a direct answer to which ignition wires did what. I need "ignition +" and "start signal" wired to the ignition. Any idea which wires to splice them into? Quote Link to comment

mrbigtanker
Is that tears in the firewall from were you pulled or ripped the battery tray out? Quote Link to comment
Chrisdevasher
Ugh yes. I plan on Fixin it. My buddy has just been busy with his welder lately. Eventually I want to fill all the unused holes. My buddy has some ties at a technical institute so he might be able to get the truck in to get body work and paint done as a "project" free of charge to me. I'd just have to pay for paint so I'm waitin to hear back about that before I do anything. Quote Link to comment
mrbigtanker
This the time to do it you know that right. Its easy to pull all that out and do a good once over, i did my bay cleaner then yours but in the end i fucked my bay up were you have the time and space to do it clean. Coming together very nice though. 1 Quote Link to comment
Chrisdevasher
Well I've been slacking on this project for the last couple of months but I finally got a drive shaft made and bought an AEM stand alone for the sr20. Going to get it tuned and get the greddy boost controller and turbo timer hooked up. Should be able to drive it pretty soon. Still have to do brake upgrades tho. Debating on going with a different rear end, I'm sure the stock 521 wont last too long. 1 Quote Link to comment

I heard the 521 diff can only take maximum around 250 hp, someone correct me if im wrong 1 Quote Link to comment
thisismatt
HP doesn't kill diffs, torque does (and wheel hop, and one legged burnouts, etc). 1 Quote Link to comment
Chrisdevasher
yea im hoping to have just under 300hp. I also have some adjustable control arms that i took off of my jeep wrangler that im debating on fabbing up a 4 link/ladder bar sytem to minimize wheel hop. I definitely dont plan on the diff lasting forever, but i also dont plan on launching it from a dig. Im sure ill have my fair share of burnouts tho.. i mean hp, boost, 521... who could resist  2 Quote Link to comment
wayno
The H190 is a very strong differential, honestly how many people you heard of that have taken one out from anything other than just wearing them out from heavy use like what I do. EricJB drag races his, and I don't recall him busting one yet, and he is using old pumpkins out of 320s with alloy housings which are what the 521 has, you can change over to the steel housings used in the 720. Also the truck H190 has huge axles except of the 320, but unless you are using a 320 rearend so you can mount wider wheels/tires, I would not worry about the rearend right now until you do have an issue. Here is Eric's thread. http://community.ratsun.net/topic/39329-project-drag-521/ 2 Quote Link to comment

Chrisdevasher
isnt there some onterfearance onthe exhaust side i massaged the steering column a little bit and i used hockey pucks for motor mounts so that raised it up a little bit more than the stock motor mounts would have. 1 Quote Link to comment
