IZRL
My favorite metal drummer. Chris Adler was the drummer for band "Lamb of God". This is the only band ever where I wanted to see the band primarily because of the drummer. Even though this band is my overall top MetalCore band (vocals, guitars, bass are also great IMO). After Chris left the band, it ain't the same, at least not for me. This guy is so clean/crisp, very technical, and makes it look so effortless. This is some sort of drum exhibition. IZRL
They played a tiny snippet of this song on a TV series I was watching recently, never heard it before. Simple song but kinda catchy. "Thrown Down"(2003) by Fleetwood Mac. Edited July 25 by IZRL 1 Quote Link to comment
paradime
Thanks Ranman, that was an epic run of young female drum talent. Anyone who says this is a lost generation isn't paying attention. The little Norwegian and Japanese girl completely blew my mind. As for the greatest drummers of all time, I think Keith Moon is often overlooked because his style is so rhythmically complex, many people think it's a chaotic mess. His fills fragment and collide one into the other, but always remains in perfect time signature. Check this out this solo and ask yourself if any other drummer could do this. 2 Quote Link to comment
paradime
In terms of drum feel, groove, and rhythm pocket for the band, Bernard Purdie is idolized by drummers as the Master Of Touch. Not a showboater, his style is more like the drum version of David Gilmore's guitar. Here's a solo vid, and then a vid breakdown of what's going on with his signature Purdie Shuffle. 2 Quote Link to comment
