RavDats
Hey just bought my first Datsun, it's a stock 2 owner (last one had it since '82) datsun 510 from 1968 car is running and driving. It has rust here and there. Never had a datsun before, so I am new to this kind of car! Photos will arrive when the car is at my door! Looking forward to the project! Quote Link to comment

RavDats
So finally my 510 arrived! Took it out for a spin, really fun to drive! Stuff to-do - Bonnet replace - Different seats! (love the bench ... )- Rear fender left (see photo) - Front fender left After it the insurance got taken care off, I went for a good good wash. Really helped the car, as it's now clean, instead of dirty as hell. As you can see, dirrrrty! Then it was time for some wash, here is when the original color came back to life! I think if I give it some proper wax and polish, it will be a nice ride for a while :-) Some final photos! :-D Everything is working on the dash!! :-) 4 Quote Link to comment

datzenmike
KPH ! I love it. My '68 didn't have this and our Datsuns in Canada switched around '74/'75 and still run dual KPH/MPH speedos. Quote Link to comment
Just Joel
Didn't notice that ^^^^ but I did think 80mph and was like "not bad for an old Dato" :p Quote Link to comment

RavDats
Correct, the door panels does have the chrome bits on it! I recently had some spare time, and took out the seats, and carpet. Only to find, it was pretty solid, and just one little hole by the pedals. Even though around that hole it was pretty solid. Need to dismantle the rest, to find out more of the car :-) It is running and driving like a charm! But i need some parts .. - Front fender(s) (Need LH side for sure) - Bonnet / Hood - coilover kit? And i prefer the original seats .. as mine aren't. Maybe whole different interior, the color now is green. I don't like that! Grtz Quote Link to comment

Tristin
I am overseas.. But if they are salvageable and i have some replacements .. I can sell them. Yeah I know... but how many times will I come across green panels? What color are you interested in? Probably easier to source here and freight them to you. Doubt there are many 510s in your area. Probably easier to source here and freight them to you. Doubt there are many 510s in your area. I am looking for black panels, if I can't find them .. Might have to make them myself, but never done that! :-p As I found a few carpets on ebay, that are black. same with the headliner. Now I need to find some nice seats, to make it all complete. And what is so special with my type of panels, with the chrome strip? I want the same strip in my panel. Quote Link to comment
banzai510(hainz)
there is a paint you can paint the panels in the door. the upper strip holds the panel in. PS Loved Holland while I was there. been to Utrecht a few times to party. Stay at Shosterberg Airbase while up there.Very friendly people. your 68 is rare and even more rare in Europe. Just feel lucky you have one. 1 Quote Link to comment
Tristin
And what is so special with my type of panels, with the chrome strip? I want the same strip in my panel. Those chrome strip ones just came in certain cars and was not a common option. You rarely see them... sometimes its just the chrome strip and sometimes that strip is used to separate two colors of vinyl so your panels are two colors. Its going to be a pretty rare option to find another set, but they are out there. I have a guy that may have something like that. Let me shoot him a message. 1 Quote Link to comment
