Ka24de 521 fuel pressure issues

finishing the swap and took a couple days to figure out why it wasnt starting, there is good spark in every cylinder, the injectors are spraying like champions, and the timing is good, so finally started today, the only way it starts is if i pinch fuel line before fuel rail with vise grips, anybody have had that issue or know whats up with that? do i need a regulator before fuel rail?

im running a walbro 255 inline fuel pump

Is the regulator on backwards?

The out line from the regulator should be the only thing returning to the tank.

Yes tgere is a regulator at end of fuel rail, for my return line i ran lines to smog canister pipes, but i put the lines together at canister, ditching the canister,

I will start by replacing fuel rail regulator

Your return fuel line goes to the canister???? What canister? It should be connected to a return line to tank. Do you mean the gas tank vent line??? over on the driver's side??? I don't think this is a good idea.

No, i ditched the cannister but used the old lines from it as return line, which leads to an inlet on top of fuel tank.

There is alot of fuel pressure, got a couple gas leaks, so i eitger got too much resistance in my return line or my regulator on fuel rail is bad

On the 521, the gas tank cap is sealed. (air tight) The vent line from the tank (under certain conditions) allow air back into the tank to replace the fuel that is removed when driving. It also allows excess fumes out to be captured and burned by the motor when running. Using for a return line might collapse the tank.

Well as you use the gas in the tank it forms a vacuum. Normally the vent allow air in to replace the fuel removed. I suppose a vented gas cap would work.

U could ghetto rig hose from reg to the gas fill and see if it runs like that. Could pull return line loose at tank and see if gas is getting thru.

Yea plenty of gas is getting thru, it a trip cause now sometimes it starts without pinching fuel line, booooo

What do u mean collapse the tank?

 

Open a bottle of water in a plane at 20 thousand feet.  Reseal it tightly.  Watch what happens as the plane lands!

Your injectors are partial seized.  smack the injector caps with the back side of your screw driver while your trying to start it.  Should free them up.

Sounds like they freed up on their own

Never heard of partial seized injector issue. It makes sense tho, has it happened to u guys? I pulled the whole rail out at one point and they all sprayed
