HKS
I assumed all trim panels were the same but when i purchased one from a seller on ratsun I recieved a piece that was similar in size and djinensions but uses a plastic plug on their sides rather than tapered like the one i need. The one on my 71 has the tapered ends but most recent one ive seen being sold by someone who has a 72 has the plastic plugs. Can someone confirm what year models came with the tapered end pieces as shown in the photos. BTW i am looking for 1 piece (driver side) although it doesnt matter if driver or passenger of someone is selling a straight piece let me know Unidentified year piece I purchased online Rubber end pieces from same type of trim Passenger side piece currently on the car tapered (Need the same one for the driver side) Quote Link to comment
Great_Escape
Did you have any luck? If you find a pair I would buy the other half. Quote Link to comment
hobbes_the_cat
I'm not 100% sure but I think the factory replacement parts will have the plastic plugs on the ends. The hood trim is similar from what I have noticed, rolled edges on parts that came on the car, but later factory replacements had the end plugs. Quote Link to comment
HKS
No luck as of yet. Still looking! Quote Link to comment
Duncan
What body style? I have a mint pair of rocker trims for a wagon. Quote Link to comment
RTB
I have a really good set with the plugs on the end. I have a set of the rolled ones too but those are going on my car. Quote Link to comment

Any "new" trim pieces bought after a certain point came with black plastic capped ends. Much cheaper to produce the the factory rolled ends. All cars had rolled ends from new. What body style? I have a mint pair of rocker trims for a wagon. They are all the same length. Quote Link to comment
SupDoc
So the 2dr and 4dr sedan rocker trims are the same length? (the 4dr isn't longer?) I only ask because someone on Australia ebay is selling repros for the 4dr with the rolled end. Maybe those will also work for the 2dr. Quote Link to comment
SupDoc
Here's the link: http://www.ebay.com/itm/DATSUN-NISSAN-BLUEBIRD-510-1600-SILL-ROCKER-STAINLESS-MOULDS-SEDAN-WAGON-COUPE-/130993166524?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item1e7fcd18bc Quote Link to comment
datsunfreak
So the 2dr and 4dr sedan rocker trims are the same length? I can guarantee it 100%. They are identical. The only difference between the 2dr and 4dr as far as trim parts go are the chrome trims on top of the door skin, just below the glass. Everything else is interchangeable. 1 Quote Link to comment

datzenmike
Tape them to a 2x4  Quote Link to comment
HKS
^seriously. I had someone sent one in a usps long cardboard box. The piece arrived in a "U" shaped piece! A think 2 poster tubes taped together will be strong enough Quote Link to comment
yenpit
HKS & datsunfreak, buy the heavy duty cardboard tube (not a standard poster tube). Sometimes you can get a freebie from a picture framing shop cuz they receive artwork in them all the time. Bottom line, charge the buyer for the tube.........it ensures that it will arrive in one piece! 1 Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Three inch PCV water pipe. You could even glue end caps on. They are almost 1/4" thick. Any house construction site will have it for perimeter drains and such. 1 Quote Link to comment
datsunfreak
Three inch PCV water pipe. I think this is actually the best idea I've heard... Quote Link to comment
HKS
Knowing how usps handles packages. A metal pipe is probably necessary. Lol Quote Link to comment
hobbes_the_cat
I have sent trim in PVC plumbing pipe and it worked great. Use the thicker sewer pipe and it should be fine. I couldn't find cardboard tubes to ship in so I went with the PVC and I will in the future too. Quote Link to comment
