dvdswan
So all the warm welcomes I thought i would give some insight on the work that has been done to my truck. Earlier this year I was snooping CL for anything interesting and came across a deal on a drivetrain from a 2003 Chevrolet 4WD Tahoe. 5.3L, 4L60E, NP246 and the complete engine harness the PCM. I'm not a auto trans guru and don't have any of the special tools so I had to have that sent out for rebuilding. Upgraded to 4L70E 5 gear planetaries for the low/reverse and OD. I sold the NP246 automatic t/case and bought a NP241C, then picked up a rebuild kit and SYE and threw it together. took the truck out one last time before it went under the knife... oops, i let off the gas a little. came home and pull the engine took measurements for the block fitment... after all was measured, fitted, and satisfied, I started to build the engine.. a couple of days before this I was as the j/y looking for parts and I came across another deal I couldn't pass up... a new cab. nothing wrong with the old one, it just didn't have the room I have always liked. 7 Quote Link to comment
dvdswan
I finished building the engine... checked some more fitment... truck intake will require the crossover hoop to be modified. grrrr. satisfied there were only little things to do with the engine, I striped the cab and remove all that was not needed... started measurements for the transmission crossmember... fit the king cab to the frame... then fit the stock fuel tank to the new cab... and fit the 2nd fuel tank in the rear... then made the cover for the fuel tank in the cab... 1 Quote Link to comment
dvdswan
sealed it inside and out... then applied sound deadener.. continued on with the trans crossmember... started working on the bed, I took the 1/4 panels from a 87 2 dr pathy and had put in the original truck fuel filler door started working on the exhaust, dual 2-1/2" into one 3"... trimmed the bed to fit the new king cab. shortened 14" in front of the wheels and the length behind the wheels is 8" shorter. its a good match... dvdswan
I had to cut the tunnel for the t/case shifter then fitted the trans shifter... fit the radiator, just enough clearance. back to the bed and stabilized the right side. rear filler neck cover then started the left side... made a notch in the fender wheel for the heater hoses... and secured the left side bed panel... filled in the gaps on the top of the bed rails on both sides. did you know that the pathfinder taillight is shorter and wider than truck taillight assembly? made access covers for the taillight assemblies.. and finally installed hood louvers to help keep engine temps down while wheeling... 3 Quote Link to comment

It's a conflict with IE11 and the forum software. You could try google chrome, that's what I did. Quote Link to comment
