Ratwagon1600
Dont know if you guys in the USA and elsewhere get to see this? http://www.v8supercars.com.au/events/supercheap-auto-bathurst-1000 Its Bathurst time again this week and Ratwagons more excited than Ellen Degeneres at a Lesbian free love festival. This is Australias premiere motorsport event and this year sees Nissan return to the race to compete against the V8's of Holden, Ford and Mercedes. If youve never seen this race folks, put it on your bucket list! Whilst im recuperating this might even give me the motivation to start wrenching again on a very unloved Goon. All the best folks. 67411sss
I remember reading a story about Peter Brock shoe horning a 186 into an austin years ago and cleaning up all the competition in it. Was that his first win at Bathurst? and RIP Danny Hulme (died driving a BMW M3 at Bathurst) Great Kiwi driver!! Quote Link to comment

Besides, no one has (yet) been caught building a 3/4 car like Smokey. 1 Quote Link to comment

Ratwagon1600
Not the great race itself, but interesting in car footage of a KA powered 510 on the Bathurst track. 1 Quote Link to comment
Ratwagon1600
And one more from 1981 when what we call "the great race" had multiple marques anddiffering engine sizes. This vid shows the legendary (in Oz anyway) 2 litre turbo charged Bluebirds in action. This clip also shows Conrod straight in its original configuration before the kink was added in 1987 due to excessive speeds amd a fatality on the track. 1 Quote Link to comment
