banzai510(hainz)
My Great Uncle had a 521 on Maui.he died and heard it was sold and was in a yard. It was in 95% condition on the early 80s and was alway well taken care of esp for the type of weather on Maui.Wonder what ever happen to it? It was white also and had a Granpas Canopy on it. Rocket Dog
Front end looks hit (valance bent back below the grill, etc), but I'd still say it looks like at least a $2000 truck unless more pics reveal more damage. +1 Quote Link to comment
tr8er
a little damage to the rear on the passenger side. looks not too bad. Quote Link to comment
wayno
If you open the driverside door and look just above the lock/jam mechanism on the pillar there will be a tag, it should say the month/year of manufacture. Every bit of damage is more work, and if it is a hawaii titled truck, you realize that you have to pay all the fees to date just transfer the title, but I recall you saying something about that already. Rocket Dog
Those mirrors are old school, very nice. I had a pair like that on one of the parts trucks but they're totally corroded out. I hope you can find the owner, it would be a nice save. Quote Link to comment
Eagle_Adam
missing the tailgate too? 1 Quote Link to comment
tr8er
Yeah, the tailgate part is rough. Not sure if I would be able to not close the tail. Not a look I'm keen on. Though finding one is not easy. Perhaps fit a hydrolic dumper in the back? Pure utility. Nah. Quote Link to comment
Rocket Dog
You could make it into a flat bed. Quote Link to comment
tr8er
Or go Hawaiian. Chain across the back with a KAPU sign. What you think Big Tanker? *Wishing I had Photoshop at work... Quote Link to comment
wayno
You could make it into a flat bed. That's funny, this is Lawrance's 1970 datsun diesel dually flatbed, it was once a gasser motorhome. This photo is of him "cruzing the gut" in Vancouver washington several years ago, he has not been on Ratsun in several years. :( You had to dig to find this photo, as I have not seen it in quite a while. 1 Quote Link to comment
Rocket Dog
The flatbed photo is right here. I just googled (image) "Datsun Flatbed". Quote Link to comment
wayno
The flatbed photo is right here. I just googled (image) "Datsun Flatbed". I have not looked at that photo in a long time, since the photolame change, I don't surf my photos anymore, if I remember where it is in my albums, I look for it, if I don't remember, I don't even bother looking anymore, it's not fun like it used to be, posting a bunch of photos everyday. I wonder if that guy scrapped that wide box dually project? :crying: Quote Link to comment
