EdwardK
I just bought a throwout bearing for my '74. The original listing said it was compatible with a '74, but the packaging says only up to '73. Are there any differences between the '73 and '74 clutch throwout(release) bearings? Actually I've noticed a lot of parts only support up to '73 and the '74 parts seem more expensive and hard to find... Any reasons behind this? Thanks guys. -Edward K. Quote Link to comment
kelowg
Bearing likely same, did it come with release collar? Thats the only thing that would differ. Maybe someone can look up part# for 73-74 to see if two diff numbers come up. Quote Link to comment
DanielC
620 trucks in the last half of 1972 had the L-16 engine. I think in 1973 they got the L-18 engine, and by 1974 had the L-20-B engine. There may have transmission changes too, that I am not aware of. Quote Link to comment
banzai510(hainz)
key is waht motor you have and that will tell us close to what you need But really there was a 5 bolt L18 flywheel that was a 225mm. its rare. if 225 mm then it usues the L20 T/O bearing. ck out rockauto.com and they have photos. but best to remove the part to ck Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Early '72 (March/April ?) was the first L16 620 (it was considered a '73 model year). Over a year later in Sept '73, making it the start of the '74 model year, the L18 was introduced along with a longer and totally different 4 speed. My info shows all L16/18 release bearings the same through '74 when the part number changed but still compatible with later years.. Quote Link to comment
