BlackBird620
Ka shifter sets about the same spot as the original 4 speed since mine had the longer trans might set about 1-2" back. And yes most of the other write ups use custom length shafts or the 2 piece my budget isn't that great anymore so I've been as cheap as I could be I got the yoke and flange measured and found out what cars had the shaft I needed Quote Link to comment
GRpufnstuf
That's great! Cheaper and stronger is right up my alley. Thanks for the link too Quote Link to comment

BlackBird620
Yours must have had the short 4speet in it then you can always open the trans tunnel a little more like most the other guys do or can hunt down a dogleg 5 speed datsmike probably has 1 or 2 extra layin around Quote Link to comment
GRpufnstuf
Yeah '73 has the short 4spd. I was thinking Dogleg but now I'm looking for the 85-86(?) shirty 5spd and '80 720 mash up. I'll keep the late model bell house so I can go back to it when I go KA later. Later Quote Link to comment
]2eDeYe
The 240sx Transmission puts the shifter back 2" from the 620 long tail 5 or 4 speeds. The earlier shorter transmission moves the shifter forward 1" or so (I think). You can go to a one piece shaft with any of those transmissions if you are lowered. If you have a long tail 620 transmission and use a 720 transmission (D21 also I believe) you don't need to make any drive shaft modifications, just run the one you already had in the 620. BlackBird620
Did a little work today not much due to stomach virus. Did finish wiring everything in the engine bay couple loose wires that needed to be put back together need to place the tank and battery where I want them and cut the 16foot of 2ga I picked up from work in 2 and route it to a fuse block under the hood think I'm going to have to order the can am box since I hate figuring out how to wire everything and my electrical knowledge is very limited Quote Link to comment
GRpufnstuf
I've done fuel injected swaps before. CanAm is 100% worth the money. Especially with all the wire diagrams he's putting out. I ordered one and am excited to get down to using it on my 620 Quote Link to comment
