wayno
Hey guys I was just wondering what is the exact amount of oil you put in yout L20b's with L-16 oil pan? There is no difference between the two engines, fill it to the mark on the dip stick. Quote Link to comment

datzenmike
There will be differences in pan shape and perhaps depth so use an L16 dip stick with an L16 oil pan. To be absolutely safe fill with 4 1/2 US quarts if with a new oil filter. 4 US quarts if not. CHECK the dipstick. If under, you can safely add more. The L16 and L20B in the 620 hold the same amount of oil but have different dip sticks so the pans may be deeper or shallower to compensate for the taller L20B block. Thus the dipsticks will have the full mark in a different position. who knows where a car L16 pan full mark is with the same amount of oil? 1 Quote Link to comment
510SSS
Ok guys so I am getting conflicting information is it 5 us quarts with the new oil filter or is it really 4.5 US quarts, I don't want to overfill + I do not have an L-16 dipstick. Thanks. Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Use any dipstick. Fill with 4.3 liters with a new filter. Start and run engine. Stop and wipe off dipstick. Check oil level. Mark level on dip stick. Quote Link to comment
scooter
My l16 620 and my 200 sx used the same dipstick. Quote Link to comment
jwerty1
Like I tell the kids at work, put 4 quarts in it, start it, shut it off, wait a minute, check the level, add or subtract as necce Quote Link to comment
