Verne's Chrome in Gardena on El Segundo Blvd.Best in So.Cal.

I have used his shop in the past for non automotive items like replating the dispenser in my ice maker. He does beautiful work. If your bumper needs straightening or dent removal, Faith Plating who used to be in Santa Monica before the Peoples Republic of Santa Monica chased his plating tanks out and is now I believe in the Gardena area has dies that will restore almost any bumper. Yellow pages may have his current location.

400 for the rear 300 for the front?

First step, Remove all the road dirt [to put it mildly] inside the bumpers.

Second step, Strip all the existing plating down to bare steel.

Third step. Neutralize the stripper.

Fourth step. Bump out the grosser dents and wrinkles.

Fifth step. Copper plate the steel.

Sixth step. Burnish the copper [not sand or grind] hand work to smooth out the surface, replate and reburnish if required.\This is all hand work and is vital to a well finished product.

Seventh step. Nickle plate.

Eighth step. Burnish.

Ninth step Chrome plate.

Tenth step "Brighten" chrome so that it isn't matte finish.

Get the message? It takes a whole lot of grunt work and skill to turn out an acceptable product. They don't call it Triple [or Tri] Chrome plating without a reason.
