Cant wait to have the roll cage finished this week end , so i'll be able to paint the interior, trunk and engine bay :) Sure it wont be a show car but still it's another saved 510 :) plus I am learning a LOT from working on it ... mcmlxxxv Posted February 12, 2014 Author Report Share Posted February 12, 2014 well ... the roll cage is not the problem, the door bars need to be low enough to keep an easy way out of the car and no ''X'' in the back of the driver to have a clear view in the back , I am more worried about the seat-belts.... they must be originals and I cant seem to find some around here . If they were lap-belt it wouldn't be a problem (were they in 1972?). Also the fuel cell might be an issue :(... Im just hoping the guy who will inspect it will be as sweet as the guy who did it for my kp61 starlet . Quote Link to comment

I'll check my storage (race car) garage when I get over there. I only own 8 of these cars and one is a parts car and two are race cars, so I should have belts if I look hard enough. mcmlxxxv Posted February 17, 2014 Author Report Share Posted February 17, 2014 roll cage is 99% done still have the lower bars in the doors to weld and a couple of other welds to check up :) here is the result :P next step is to install the steering column and pedal assembly :) when that will be done , primer and paint for the interior under panels and engine bay :) 1 Quote Link to comment

mcmlxxxv Posted February 25, 2014 Author Report Share Posted February 25, 2014 I found a way to really try my tig welder cutted out 4 inches of fuel cell , I'll make baffles out of the spare material because there wasn't any in the cell .
