mcmlxxxv Posted June 12, 2013 Author Report Share Posted June 12, 2013 I can get a set of jdm one around here for about 80$ just dont have the time to go pick em up lol. but for sure you will see those bracket welded soon :) I need to test fit everything before the primer ... this car is much more work than I expected but I enjoy working on it :) reported the appointment for the roll cage too lol I want to do it right so when I will take the car there it's gonna be ready :) steering column is my big concern for now , still dont know what I will do ...:( I will wait for my pedals to arrive , then see how much space I have to work with . denis.drc Posted June 12, 2013 Report Share Posted June 12, 2013 A good cheap steering column solution is a S13 column. That's what I'm running next. It comes with the tilt function and enough flex joints to make it work. PLUS, it has modern headlight and turn signal switches. Give it a try. It also allows you to use the S13 steering wheel hub adapters a few other upgrades not available for the 510 column. Quote Link to comment

mcmlxxxv Posted July 31, 2013 Author Report Share Posted July 31, 2013 piston ring ordered :) I also applied some kind of POR15 on the floor pans I still have to finish the passenger side rear quarter and a bit of trunk floor for the rear of the shell . On the front the only thing I have to finish is the 2 frames under the fenders and then I will get in some real bodywork :) Quote Link to comment
mcmlxxxv Posted August 5, 2013 Author Report Share Posted August 5, 2013 more work done to the front today as im waiting to see if I could find a better shape rear quarter ... removed the rain tray cowl , then removed the fender frame and made a paper model to have the part made this week for both side I will also patch the rust wich I have access now that the cowl is removed while I have access to this unseen place ... more por15 did most of the sealer but one quart wasn't enough... 1 Quote Link to comment

mcmlxxxv Posted September 16, 2013 Author Report Share Posted September 16, 2013 installed the right side rear flare : glued with 3m 08115 and riveted ...should hold ... and I made myself a little early birthday gift :D miller diversion 165 :) I dont have a lot of skills but I have a friend who is a professional welder who will teach me how to use it right :) for now I good with steel ... but I suck with aluminium ... anyway .. mcmlxxxv Posted October 14, 2013 Author Report Share Posted October 14, 2013 did my steering box brace :) and stitch welded the shock towers now I'm about to fit the wilwood pedal assembly but the steering column is right where it would set because there is no curve in the pedal arms ... So im thinking about modifying the steering column but I wonder how... Can I put more than 2 joints in a steering column ? did some of you already get into this ? mcmlxxxv Posted October 20, 2013 Author Report Share Posted October 20, 2013 solved the pedal problem , thx to Byron510 on the realm for the advice! cut and weld this gave me the .5'' needed to fit right worked on the rollcage a bit also repaired the rain gutter too and patched the final section I had to do on the rear end panel back glass (just for fun ...) and we close the shop for now Quote Link to comment
