villegs
Often when I start rolling in the truck there is an uncomfortable groan from the front suspension of the truck. I recently replaced all of the steering components, thinking it was the badly worn Idler Arm but the groan continues, next guess is the tension rod bushings. Is there something that's a reasonably facsimily of the factory bush or someone have a factory part # as my local dealer tossed all their microfiche :( Quote Link to comment
villegs
77 KC with kingpin suspension BTW, make it a 76.5? Quote Link to comment
hang_510
if they are similiar to a 510, then experimental engineering offers a nice upgrade. Quote Link to comment
metalmonkey47
Not exactly similar. I changed the ones in my 620 today using some Energy Suspension bushings. You HAVE to drill holes in the bushings to allow them to flex, or you risk snapping the caster rods/tension rods. Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
56112-09400 620 all to June '77 ....about $3 each you need 4 think. Better go with rubber as they have the proper 'give' to them. Poly are way too stiff and wear from chafing and squeak. Because they don't give enough the tension rod can't properly move up and down through it arc and is forced to bend, leading to sudden failure. The tension rod helps triangulate the lower control arm to prevent forward/backward movement when hitting bumps or applying the brakes. If it fails .... don't be in the truck. Quote Link to comment

HRH
Your local NAPA should still be able to get those. Quote Link to comment

]2eDeYe
4 per bar? Is it not two at the front and then two at the back, for a total of 8 all together? This is correct, you will need a total of 8 bushings. Quote Link to comment
ohmrchristopher
I went and look at my truck to confirm after asking this, but still wasnt sure if the bushing size changed front to rear. 8 bushings ordered from Calgary Nissan @ $2.50 a piece lol Quote Link to comment
