rayven14
What am I missing? As a result I can't get the motor far forward enough without stresssing the motor mounts ...one of them tore because the motor is 1/2 or 3/4 inch from lining up properly. So, the question is: are the oil pans different from the L16/18, motor mounts to the block, crossmembers? 1 Quote Link to comment
Guest 510kamikazifreak
Didnt change the oil pan/pick up to the L16/18 one? This is a must 1 Quote Link to comment
rayven14
Hey 510, I hate to sound like a dumb sh** but ...What do I need to do? use the stock L16/18 or use the L20 one. Im not sure what the hell is on there right now but I guess its the wrong one. I hate the fact that Ive got it all nice and painted, installed and looking good, now I probably gotta pull it all apart, paint the new pan etc etc.... ARRRGHHHHH!!!!! Quote Link to comment
strang3majik
Use the l16 oil pan and engine mounts. I was told you had to use the oil pickup...but they were exactly the same for me. Quote Link to comment

rayven14
Hobbes, What ya want for it, hopefully its not too much to ship Banzai, I scrapped all the L16 stuff with the idea that I wasnt gonna need it, I knew I shoulda kept the parts car a lil longer!!! Quote Link to comment
hobbes_the_cat
$40 plus shipping. it's light so shipping shouldn't be bad, probably $10 or so, I can box and weigh it to get a better estimate. it has a dent on the bottom from the motor being set down on the floor, but wasn't leaking or anything. banzai510(hainz)
rayven14 , Thats a good pan with the splash divider. Not all pans have this. Now get the l16 510 motor mounts. Just to let you know Youll need to know what size flywheel you using cars that had l20s used 200mm(can use the 510 T/O bearing and sleeve) l20 in trucks had 225mm(use the 620 T/O bearing and sleeve. Guest 510kamikazifreak
also if I remember correctly, switch mounts on the block side for each, helps with the rubbing on the hood Quote Link to comment
rayven14
damn 40 bills for a pan, that seems kinda high! and I gosta pay for shipping GEEZZZ 510Freak, I'll look into that cause I think I might have a 1/4 inch of clearance... If that!! Quote Link to comment
hobbes_the_cat
 If you find a cheaper one thats fine by me. look at what pick n pull charges, plus tax, plus "enviromental fees" plus, you have to pull it, plus you have to find a yard that has one. If you don't want it I will just keep it. saves me a trip to the post office. B) Quote Link to comment
