a.d._510_n_ok
were more of them produced than 210s, 510s, 810s, etc? I know of three yards near me with several Z cars each but not a single '10. Quote Link to comment
Skib
the 240Z was in such high demand you didnt get to pick the colour most of the time. the back order was so long you just waited until one came and thats what you got. Quote Link to comment
FoxyRoadster
I'd say it is more because it was produced longer then any other datsun model if I remember correctly. I know the roadster is rather low production on the numbers in its 6 year production. Quote Link to comment

king bee66
i think the zeds style has aged better as a classic in the eyes of alot of americans, whereas other models were run into the ground and discarded. at least thats my theory Quote Link to comment

Str8_69
Too funny... after a fruitless search for the right dime I've started thinking about getting another Z, and this thread pops up. Quote Link to comment

bonvo
its a combination of these factors the s30 b0dy style ran from 70-79 where as the other body styles like the 510 for example were only 68-73 the 610 73-76 then take into account they were treated better cause they were a sports car not a commuter and you get them over all lasting longer that being said if i had my pick of any datsun out there the z would probably be 3rd or 4th on the list Quote Link to comment
yellowdatsun
It was the first one to be considered a classic, and was a "sports car" from new, both of which makie it more desirable and therefore more likely to be saved and preserved. All other Datsuns were working class cars, designed to be used up and thrown away. The 510 lucks out in that it has a racing heritage, otherwise they too would all be in the scrap heap. Dat Lurka
11-12 years of Zs and they were more marketable to Americans. Relatively efficient sports car with plenty of sex appeal for 3-5k$ compared to gas munching muscle cars for twice that. It was all about the Sex Quote Link to comment
nismo dr
I think 620's have by far the highest survival rate. Granted I'm on left coast, but I see at least a dozen a day. Quote Link to comment
