KlassicMotion
Stock lights back in. You can notice the amount you need to remove for larger GL buckets: License plate lights removed as well: Garnish mocked up: Too much black, so Ill be stripping the paint off like below: Are you going to leave the tail lights upside down? :poke: Link to comment
Tristin
Are you going to leave the tail lights upside down? :poke: They werent even bolted in... just put them in with the reverses in the center. They will be right side up when completely installed. Good eye :P Link to comment
Tristin
So masking while using stripper didnt give me the cleanest edge so I stripped the whole thing and will start fresh. Here is the garnish mocked up with no paint. Thoughts? Link to comment
jalen
I Personally like the garnished stripped. You don't have enough black on your car to pull it off 1 Link to comment
red76datsun
Ya I dig the garnish stripped. Lookin funky fresh Link to comment
datsunfreak
I'd love to see the strips and center painted red to mirror the taillights. Always wanted to see that done and never seen it, so... B) Link to comment

jalen
I like the garnished stripped vs painted. It looks like a knock off bluebird tail light panel IMO Link to comment
datsunfreak
It looks like a knock off bluebird tail light panel IMO but it is a Bluebird tail light panel? Link to comment
Tristin
That looks awesome Tristin! Not sure about the red though... That was just to appease Freak. It won't be red... Maybe if I had a white car with more red somewhere. but it is a Bluebird tail light panel? Beat me to it. Haha Jalen the eternal noob. Link to comment

q-tip
What about just running red on the space where the light is seperated by the two pieces of trim Link to comment
Tristin
There will be no red. I think I like the plain garnish... Ill probably bust out some Nevrdull and moderately polish it up. See how that goes. Link to comment
KlassicMotion
I like this. But what if you stripped the little fins and left them chrome too? Or instead of the black, do the red and strip the little fins too? Link to comment
Tristin
I like this. But what if you stripped the little fins and left them chrome too? Or instead of the black, do the red and strip the little fins too? That shits just way too crazy for me. Im pretty happy with the plain brushed/polished look right now. Im going to be hitting Lowes tomorrow for mounting hardware and it should be installed permanently tomorrow sometime. Looks like I just found a cream rear seat so I can get rid of that Mexican blanket in the back. Ill fold it up and lay it across the bench seat for awhile since the bottom is ripped up. I know my dog will appreciate it since she slides all over the place when she tags along. Now I just need, well want, a 68 rear bumper and Ill be all set. Getting close to being completed "look-wise." Link to comment
KlassicMotion
^^^ I stated on your pic in "pic of your dime" that I like the all chrome garnish. Good call. 1 Link to comment
Kirden
That brushed look goes nicely with the color. I'd leave it that way. 1 Link to comment
jalen
I meant the coupe lights. The striped look breaks it up while the red looks like a knock off of these Link to comment
