Laecaon
Here you can see what the White House has said: https://wwws.whitehouse.gov/petitions/!/petition/veto-sopa-bill-and-any-other-future-bills-threaten-diminish-free-flow-information/g3W1BscR?utm_source=wh.gov&utm_medium=shorturl&utm_campaign=shorturl Quote Link to comment

king bee66
Addressing why it has not been on TV:

http://mediamatters....tv/201201150002

jon stewart was asked about why he hadnt covered it by and audience member last week and mentioned on the show that he hadnt even really heard about it. they supposedly will be doing a spot on it this week. not that thats a big deal, i think that most of the daily shows audience already knows about it Quote Link to comment
Laecaon
I just find it interesting on how few people know about it. My mom knows, but not because she uses the internet, but because she is a House Rep. (She is strongly against it). Quote Link to comment
king bee66
people hear "piracy" and they instinctively think that anything that will combat that is a good thing. i really dont believe that alot of people over the age of 50 know how the internet works. its all clever marketing, as was the PATRIOT act Quote Link to comment
Hardwyre
Here you can see what the White House has said: https://wwws.whiteho...mpaign=shorturl "That is why the Administration calls on all sides to work together to pass sound legislation this year that provides prosecutors and rights holders new legal tools to combat online piracy originating beyond U.S. borders " So essentially everything the white house has said is a complete and total pile of horse shit because there are already dozens of legal tools in place to combat online piracy. The DCMA being a huge one. Hey Whitehouse, don't create new abusive "tools", just enforce the abusive ones we already have. Oh, and accept that fact that piracy is just a convenient scapegoat for low revenue (http://www.rogerebert.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20111228/COMMENTARY/111229973/). Quote Link to comment
