daverino
Hey guys, thought I'd throw up some photos of my 620. Hope everyone had a good xmas ;) A couple months after I bought my first 620... Taken a couple days ago... The first two photos were from a blog here in SF. They found my car parked and did a cool lil' write up about it with some great photos. Here's the link: http://streetparkedsf.tumblr.com/post/7645703954/datsun-620-pickup-1972 They said it was a '72 but no biggie. Quote Link to comment

datzenmike
This picture tel's me it's a '75 but no older than a '77 non California truck. Is this truck from out of state??? It does not have the EI distributor and does have the ballast resistor by the coil.. Love the butterscotch color. Quote Link to comment
daverino
From what I've gathered, the truck has had only two other owners. The original owner had it all the way til Feb 2011 and then sold it to some dude who sold it to me after two months. It came from Stockton, CA. but it sounds like the car originated in Mexico possibly. It's definitely a '76. I've been trying to get an idea of what this car has been through but it's tricky. The VIN doesn't come up in carfax or anything like that. Mileage is either 26,000, 126,000, 226,000, 1,126,000... Quote Link to comment

I think Mexican/Latin American 620s had J series motors and wing windows. 1,126,000... good sense of humor. Carfax only goes back to '81 or something. There is a build date on the driver's door jam, but is only riveted on. The frame # is pass side on top just forward of the motor mount. Should match the VIN tag. Probably fine as it must have passed Cali smog. Quote Link to comment

ggzilla
FED vehicles can pass California smog testing. CARFAX is nearly useless, especially for older vehicles Quote Link to comment
K_trip
Nice looking truck! It looks a lot like the one for sale on Craigslist a little while back, the sellers name was Ben I think. Maybe it's not the same truck, not that it really matters, it just looks familiar - that's all. DId you have trouble getting it past the smog check? Quote Link to comment
Steroid
A Mexican truck's VIN plate is in Spanish. I posted a oic of the one off of My fourdoor somewhere long ago, maybe on My fourdoor thread. http://community.ratsun.net/topic/601-steroids-4-door-620/. If Your's looks like others posted on Ratsun, it is probibly a US imported truck. For refrence (or interest), here it the link for My new and improved dually project!!: http://community.ratsun.net/topic/12236-severance-day-not-what-you-think/page__hl__dually Good luck with Your build and welcome!!
