FoxyRoadster
I've been looking into plasti-dip for interior pieces for a while, but have seen a few wheels painted with the stuff and have to say I am seriously considering it after I found this kit. http://www.plastidip.com/home_solutions/Create_Your_Color_Kit Anyone here paint their wheels with the stuff? Laecaon
No, but youtube shows a lot of people who have. It seems to have a nice enough finish, and is highly reverseable. I mainly like it as a protectant during the winter. Quote Link to comment
The Dat-side
I had no idea that's what all those black wheels were! I want to do that to my ZX 6 spokes! I'll have to look into it more, is it a brush on or spray? Quote Link to comment

I'm BLUE
Plasti-Dips been around for a bit ! interesting proposal No I have not painted my wheels with it ,,, used on some tools ,,, and other things ,,, I don't think I would dip/brush/apply wheels in it ,,, considering all of the gravel , rocks , temperature changes , possible UV effects ? (IDK ?) ,,, But again , I have never tried it ! Best Luck ! Quote Link to comment

The Dat-side
Doing it. Don't know when but hopefully soon. Still need to watch the vids when I get home. Should I do it before I get my tires on? Or after? Quote Link to comment

Should I do it before I get my tires on? Or after? I've mounted and dismounted Semi , Car , and Truck Tires all ,,, day ,,, long ,,, years ago ,,, on old machines I would say "after" ,,, but these newer tire machines are probably less harsh by far ! If it were me ,,, i would do it after ,,, considering the tire mount and dismount ,,, as well as "care' of your wheel ,,, is held up to whether the person mounting/dismounting your tires "really cares" ,,, just a thought :) ( normally I would say apply before ) Quote Link to comment
Laecaon
grab a bunch of 3x5 cards and jam them in between the tire and rim Quote Link to comment

They've been salting the roads here, man. You ever notice the dark lines on the road that run lengthwise along the road, mainly on bridges or around corners? Been doing it since last year or the year before. And so it begins.. Quote Link to comment

That is not salt. It is magnesium Chloride. ODOT expressly says it doesnt use salt. http://www.tripcheck.com/Pages/RCMap.asp?mainNav=RoadConditions&staticNav=WinRoadMain Quote Link to comment
Dandyz
Uh, magnesium chloride (MgCl) is a salt... I knew all that college chemistry would come in handy some day. Quote Link to comment
Laecaon
Sigh, I knew I should have looked that up first. Just too hasty. Well at least it is not the same as road salt, and they try to put anti corrosion in it. I wonder how the 2 compare to actually causing corrosion... Quote Link to comment
