The ones on my SU's arent really the right ones but will work for awhile..

the backing plate had to be modified to clear the choke cable mounts...

heres what i believe to be the "correct" filters,probably K & N's...

Looks like the 3rd ones down may work "oval straight"

I made it using a buck to form the edges over. I used two pieces of particle board cut into the shape that I wanted. I then cut a piece of aluminum to slightly larger than that so that there would be a nice lip to hold the filter in place. I used 3031 aluminum that was annealed. Makes it really easy to work with and form. The two boards are then bolted together with the alum. sandwiched between them, and the protruding edge is beaten down with a leather hammer to make the lip.

This was the first thing that I ever made for my car (4 years ago...wow time fly's). Not that hard and turned out pretty good for my first attempt at doing something like this.

Get these ones:

SU 1-1/2 Bore SDR 5-7/8 1-3/4 E-3180 10 56-1390

As long as your SUs are the ones from a L18, L20B, these would be the correct air filters for you. I am fabricating my own custom air cleaners, will post pics as I get the parts together. Any taller and you run the risk of hitting your brake reservoirs.
