Dime Dave
Here is what my friend's box flared 510 racecar looks like fresh out of the paint shop. You asked for ideas. Quote Link to comment
oldschool80sguy
I like it. My box flares are not as clean but i hope to achieve a similiar look. Maybe a two tone paint job with a racing number on door or hood. Somthing really retro and fun. Thanks for input. Quote Link to comment

I really like that Exhaust cutout on the side! not too sure how practical it would be for street driving but its cool. Quote Link to comment
Skib
if you want some photoshops of paint get a large clear side and 3/4 view photos for people to work with. Quote Link to comment
AZhitman
I'm envisioning a flat butterscotch color with light grey BRE stripes and a lot of exposed, clear-coated metal in the interior... Quote Link to comment
GreenEggs&Ham
Better angled pictures of your car please! maybe a roof shot? I want to photoshop it :D Did you have a race number in mind? 72..? Quote Link to comment
DISLEXICDIME
i like box flared cars in white like mine! Quote Link to comment
oldschool80sguy
Thanks to GreenEggs&Ham's amazing work with Photoshop I have my paint plan. This is an original photo of the car that he modified. I am seriously considering tossing the wide body air dam for a modified spook front valance as seen in the picture: Quote Link to comment
The Dat-side
Isn't that a spook? Quote Link to comment
DISLEXICDIME
That is a spook just like the one on my car. In the next pic up. I like the orange but not the black hood. Check out the scoop on sinfulls dime it looks realy good Quote Link to comment
mklotz70
Monochromatic paint schemes were the rage when the box flare was common. I prefer the air dam you have in the first pics...the spook seems to convoluted to match the nice smooth box flares. Not a fan of the hood scoop for the same reason. If the flare are/were metal, it would be cool to show that off by doing the bre stripe in clear coated bare metal. Quote Link to comment
oldschool80sguy
Isn't that a spook? yes, my bad. Quote Link to comment
oldschool80sguy
I appreciate all the feedback, ill look into the scoop options. sorry about the mistake with the airdam. i didn't know the correct name, its fixed now. Quote Link to comment

I got my spook from the510keeper. LOL, like i said in the very beginning: I love the car; always wanted one. i don't pretend to know what i am doing with this restoration. luckily the car is simplistic and i have an engineering backround. take the rust off, weld it, prep it, prime it, paint it. or in any other case. replace it. those are the words i live by. I do like the Spook more. I will prob modify it slightly to fit the wide body better and simplify it as best as possible. thank again. Quote Link to comment
Laecaon
Now if you would have had actually provided a picture like that in the first place, I would have photoshoped it... Quote Link to comment
