datsunfreak
The 510 front bumper looks great on that 610 - does the 510 rear bumper work too? Sort of. Not really. :P Had to trim it A LOT to get it to fit. Never really looked "right" to me. We're on the lookout for some '73 610 bumpers right now. Front bumper only took very minor trimming, and we used the stock 510 brackets to get it on. Quote Link to comment
Edgaramelio1
What kind of paint in the valve cover could I use? Is this heat proofing? Quote Link to comment
datsunfreak
What kind of paint in the valve cover could I use? Is this heat proofing? That is what's normally called "BBQ Black". It's satin black high temp paint made for painting bbq grills. Works a treat on headers and valve covers. And you would NEVER want to "heat proof" a valve cover. It has to be able to radiate heat out or the engine will not like it. You just want to make sure whatever spray paint you use can handle the heat. Most can. And gloss paints don't radiate the heat as well as satin, flat, or textured paints do. So stay off that shiny stuff. ;) Quote Link to comment

datsunfreak
You can also have a local powder coating shop do it in wrinkle black. Not exactly the low-buck "Ratsun" approach, but definitely cool. And effective. Quote Link to comment

Bob3
Rebuild the front and rear brakes today, so took a quick pic... Any idea what flares these are? They look great! Quote Link to comment
datsunfreak
Any idea what flares these are? They look great! 240ZG flares, got them from MSA. Link to buy: Fiberglass - http://www.thezstore.com/page/TZS/PROD/7BSA02/50-1562 Carbon Fiber - http://www.thezstore.com/page/TZS/PROD/7BSA02/50-1563 Made for a 240Z obviously, but they fit the 610 very well. They are usually contrasting colors on a Z... When this car gets painted we are thinking silver body and gunmetal flares. If we get the fiberglass JDM bumpers, those will be gunmetal also. datsunfreak
u mean i should charge more than 45b bucks for a powder coated valve cover .... shit... No, I was saying spray paint costs $3. ^_^ Want to powdercoat some valve covers for me? Quote Link to comment
datsunfreak
Couple things... Dave decided to take the flares off. I was against, but it's not my car, so... :P Also took my spare '73 grill and repainted it and polished the stainless trim. Fits well, even with the '74 side markers. Doesn't clear the '74 turn signals so well. :P But I think it'll work as is until I can find the '73 fenders and turn signals. Quote Link to comment
bonvo
it looks like crap without the flares now that its been cut for them either put them back on or send them to me :P Quote Link to comment
datsunfreak
Also, an FYI to any 610 owners who want some wiiiiide ass tires, the 245s look like they'll fit even without the flares once we swap on some 280ZX struts. They clear in the back with a simple fender lip roll. Quote Link to comment
Eagle_Adam
but the fender flairs were awesome :( Quote Link to comment
datsunfreak
it looks like crap without the flares now that its been cut for them Believe it not, it hasn't been cut. The rear lips have just been severely rolled. B) About to try and see if we can "unroll" them... but the fender flairs were awesome :( Like I said, his call not mine. I think it needs them. Quote Link to comment
